That review was so totally bogus. But who cares what they say. I personally (and I know many people on the forum) think Eisley rocks!!! and as long as there is a breath in my body I will stand close to the members of Eisley and all their fans!!

ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!

Oregon bashing won't help your guys' case...but I must say that I don't really like much that comes out of U of O. Except Sam Elliot.

Otherwise Oregon is a neat place...though I don't like hardly any of the music that comes from here.

It's pretty obvious this was an ego-stroking article from an awful writer to a local band he wanted to get in good with. And while some college papers are great (I've heard), I don't know of any around here. OSU's Daily Barometer is pretty bad, too.

Oh yeah, I'm new here. Hello. Rolling Eyes

That review ran contrary to my opinion, but it also convicted me as a writer. I just started writing for Dallas Music Guide - you can find it online at dallasmusicguide.com - and I'm having trouble writing about music. Someone once compared it to "dancing about architecture." While I can be angry at the reviewer, I also understand him too well. I just knocked a band in a review called, oddly enough, Owsley and I suddenly started thinking, after reading the Eisley review, "What if I just really didn't get the album and there are a lot of their hometown fans angy with me now?" Also, I don't think I did a very good job at picking apart Owsley's music, though I did know that I didn't like it. All that to say, I understand being a bad reviewer. I'm going to try to be a better one. Also, I hope to be Dallas Music Guide's lead Eisley supporter. I'm definitely grabbing up the chance at reviewing the full-length before any of the other guys.

Becoming a writer is a growth process, and the questions you are now asking yourself are, I believe, integral to the field you are in. Those are what bring the growth on. Maybe you didn't do too well on that particular review, maybe you did. But if you learn from your mistakes (supposed or otherwise), you will only get better.

Plus, you seem to be a King James user, so you can't be all bad.

For clarification, I am not one of those psychotic exclusively King James readers. In fact, I read the New American Standard version more often. The King James was just handy here at the office.

I appreciate the encouragement. I do hope to get better as I write more reviews.
