so i went to my local indie music store today to see if i could find an eisley vinyl or the special edition combinations. one of the guys at the cash register searched it through the register and said combinations has been out of print since march of this year...

reprise to sire label change or something else?

Maybe he meant the special edition version. Did they at least have one of these:

I'm getting a lot of mileage out of this 8-track tape graphic.

No but that's kind of disheartening. I think Boyd said there was going to be a Combinations vinyl. Maybe I'm remembering that wrong.

*edit* I'm sorry, I was wrong. I don't think there will be any vinyl for Cominations but there will be for the next album.

I think at one point he also said they might try to get both Combinations and Room Noises pressed on vinyl, and sell them as a two-pack or something.

EDIT: I tried to find where he said it (I think it was on twitter), but now I can't. Hopefully I didn't make it up, but it does seem possible.

That does sound familiar but I'm not sure either.

It was said that at some point they would like to have all the LPs available on vinyl, I remember too. It might have be in the comments on an update and not twitter.

I don't think Combinations was ever on vinyl, was it? Room Noises was. But as for the special edition Combinations, it came with some video and with a signed lithograph, I think. I can't remember. I know I have the special edition one. I seem to remember I was missing 1 signature on my lithograph. Laughing

I didn't get a litho with mine. Just a DVD and a blue cover.

When Combinations came out, Boyd said there wasn't going to be any vinyl. I don't know if Sire is going to re-release the old LPs, but maybe that's when the vinyl talk started.

Yeah there was no vinyl Combinations but there may have been some talk about it coming in the future. I don't like vinyl so I didn't pay close attention.
The signed litho came with the Special Edition Combinations only if you ordered directly from WB.

It happens when you switch labels. I'm sure Sire will re-release them. Maybe digitally remastered! Wink

If this album (LP3) breaks big for Eisley, most assuredly they will, or at least warner will, as Deluxe Reissues, with B-sides and previously unreleased material. At least, that's one approach that's become common. They could even angle for a box set of the LC and MT EPs plus Expanded editions of RN and Combinations... Sort of like what Virgin did with Ben Harper before Burn to Shine came out with his 1st 3 records.

It's better than the current drill, which is rereleasing a new album with two new songs 3 singles into the album cycle and promoting it like it was a new release all over again.

Correct!! We already had the 'standard " Combinations CD, but we ordered our Special Edition Combinations (with DVD included/blue cover) copy direct from the WB website and got the very cool autographed lithograph with it. We also have the vinyl Room Noises LP. We don't listen to it often, though it sounds great (we listen to the Room Noises CD on a weekly basis Smile ...) , but the vinyl LP makes a great collectable. We had the band autograph the LP album cover for us and we framed it as part of our huge EISLEY wall display. It looks totally awesome!! Smile
