As you can see there is no EP1 or EP2, I decided to omit them because there are several versions whereas the commercially available EPs have concrete track lists. Besides, they were in a completely different band called MossEisley then. Razz

Now that those grumbles have been bypassed, casta your vote-a My criteria for choosing a favorite EP gives heavy weight to songs that are unavailable anywhere else, hence I think 'Like the Actors' is their best: 3 great originals in Sun Feet, Marsh King's Daughter & Like The Actors + 2 kickass live versions. Only room for improvement would be the uneven balance of 4 Sherri vs. 1 Stacy song. Other contenders are Final Noise, Fire Kite, and HATS.

Fire Kite for sure...
I listen to 'Ambulance' and 'The Valley' more than anyone should be allowed to.

Marsh King's Daughter is arguably their most polished song ever, though.

Fire Kite.
Even though I only listened to half of it the one time,
Ambulance and The Valley are my 2nd and 3rd favorite Eisley songs ever,
after Ten Cent Blues.

I chose HATS EP because Head Against The Sky, Just Like We Do, and Mr. Pine are all easily in my top 10 favorite Eisley songs, and the live versions of the latter two on that EP are top notch. Throw in the live version of Escaping Song and you got yourself a kick-ass Eisley EP.

Fire Kite and Like The Actors are a close second.

I really like Fire Kite, but EP 2 is a strong second.

No love for Final Noise? "Escaping Song" and "They All Surrounded Me" converted me from pretty-big-Eisley-fan to Eternally Devoted Eisley Worshiper. But I'm a sucker for their more whimsical stuff.

Close second: Like the Actors

i was gonna put final noise, but then there's others on the ep, and i don't particularly like them as much. almost like the actors cause the three b-sides and decent live performance, but fire kite just won out. also almost put on laughing city, but i really don't like their version of telescope eyes, and i wasn't prepared is just okay on it. the other three tracks are spectacular however.

Because Grainthrower specifically said "Start-to-finish" I picked laughing city because top to bottom i liked all the songs and the sequence worked really well to create a mood without being monotonous or two all-over-the-place either, like a bunch of singles.

By the way...
Any place I can grab the mp3s from their older stuff?
I lost a big box of CDs in my last move and really hate not having stuff like "Winter Song" and "Mister Pine".

Thanks so much!
Last time I checked none of Eisley's extended catalogue was for sale. This is great news.

The HATS version of Mr. Pine is the sucky live one.
I used to have a nice recorded version of that song. Any idea where that is?
