Someone mentioned this on Trolleywood, but I eventually decided this warranted it's own thread (even if it is a short one). VERY, VERY impressed with the promo artwork for this tour. Boyd's work, I assume? Just the right balance of whimsy and foreboding to evoke classic Eisley. Apocryphal much A very welcome and positive shift in how Eisley presents itself, I think. |

On facebook there was a back and forth in the comments of an Eisley post: is WB the Rabbit or the Frog. Boyd said in "the business" WB is the Rabbit label, re: Bugs. I always heardof the WB tv network referred to as "the Frog" in the press. Well, borrow from that and think what you will. The rabbit's eyes are closed and it looks sorta deadish in both, read smear or not. So who's afraid of the Sky Blue Wolf, Sky Blue Wolf, Sky Blue Wolf??? _________________ yup, that's my name. I'm not sure why WB wanted to promote a frog from an obscure cartoon short rather than the iconic Bugs Bunny when they launched their TV network. Neither seems to work. So if the rabbit is a reference to the WB, how do the wolf and the blood fit in? Is the blood an acknowledgement of the mayhem recently with the WB? If the wolf with the inscrutable demeanor is Eisley, is the band being cast in a predatory light? Is there a lone gun man in the woods? _________________ |

^ My guess on the WB tv network using the Frog is cause they wanted to create a separate brand identity maybe, either that or cause THIS is one of the greatest Merry Melodies Shorts Ever! Oh, and I have No Clue who the Wolf is, but if it scared off "the rabbit" then that's good news for Eisley! _________________ yup, that's my name. Yeah, we are regular Code Talkers as far as Eisley Promo Art circa Fall 2010 is concerned. grain thrower wrote: A wooden cigar? Not re. promo ART per se, but closely enough related to avoid creating a new thread.... Its not only the promotional artwork/image side that has taken a turn for the better on this tour, its seems... The promo pitch below is from The Loft Dallas' listing for the Nov 27 show. Its the first short description of the band I've seen (or at least the first in a long time) that accurately describes the band- wonder if it was provided by the Band's machine or someone local... Could it be true that someone finally "gets" Eisley? Eisley consists of four siblings: Sherri DuPree, Stacy DuPree, Chauntelle DuPree and Weston DuPree — and their cousin, Garron DuPree. Featuring ethereal, soaring harmonies and dreamy imagery, Eisley has a sound all their own. They are, however, not without comparison or influence.
