Yeah, $23.01 is a little pricey for that poster but I just couldn't resist having the poster and vinyl, so I bit. $60 there, now to buy my $16 plus "convenience" fee tickets for the show with Rooney. Eisley, you better love me SOOOOOOO much ![]() _________________ Say something witty, dammit! http://kimschaefer.bandcamp.com/ http://youtube.com/kimschaefermusic |

At least ones that are selling under a million copies, as far as I know. well technically the writer of a song gets a mechanical royalty for every song sold. so that would mean eisley gets money. however royalties are usually due first to the label who financed the project (i dunno in this case if the cost was transferred to EVR) and then once they get past that point, the artist makes money. so the number of songs/albums sold really does matter. also, i'm sure that there is a cost difference between what the artist makes at amazon vs makes selling on the road/their own merch store. i know i make a bigger profit margin on selling cds in person than those that i sell thru cd baby because of the cost of having a middleman. i imagine the same goes for eisley here. _________________ Say something witty, dammit! http://kimschaefer.bandcamp.com/ http://youtube.com/kimschaefermusic |

i'm just wondering - is the band going to be selling the album during the upcoming tour...before march 1st? or will they hold off until the release date? _________________ Saellys wrote: You misunderstood. I didn't care, I paid because I like 'em too much not to. That said, few bands may make any money from album sales, but it does cost money to make albums ... so that's where it all goes until it's paid. At least that's my understanding of the industry ... _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I pre-ordered the CD/LP bundle. They had a media mail shipping option for $4.77, making the total $29.76. I can't justify spending $25 more for the litho, as cool as it is. To me the vinyl > litho. If the mega bundle was $35 or $40 I would have totally gone with that package, but they are pricing the lithograph as more valuable than the vinyl, and I just don't see that... |

Hmm...I've always been pretty impressed with DFTBA shipping costs, but I do live in the US, so that might change things. I'm not pleased with the $10 shipping for the mega-bundle, but I bought it anyway. I think it's worth it for what I'm getting and for the fact that it's getting here before the release date. _________________ Taylor | @thbrogan http://inconnumag.com |

I now have a $4.38 Media Mail option for just the vinyl record. $21 total is still more than I typically pay, but now I'll probably buy it from Equal Vision instead of Amazon (assuming they will carry it eventually, which they might not). _________________ http://apturnofftheradio.blogspot.com |
