Anyone know the Disney song Sherri is referring to?

I have a good idea. It's from "Summer Magic" and I grew up watching that movie with my mom. Gotta love Hayley Mills. If I find it, I'll post it.

On the Front Porch:

Femininity:

She's the Pink of Perfection:

I think those are in the top running. While none of them sound like IWP, I could see inspiration being drawn from any of these. They all have a very IWP feel to them, even in the slightest bit. Which do you think it is? The music for "Femininity" when it starts has an IWP feel, but "On the Front Porch", theme-wise, seems like it'd fit a little closer. Being with the ones you loves, etc.

I'm very happy that y'all are enjoying the podcast (even though some joker disliked it, grumble). I'm going to be posting the songs separately so that they can be enjoyed without having to go through the interview over and over. First up is The Valley, which is up now.

Next up will be Watch It Die.

@rchamp - It's a great interview. Not to be mean but most are the exact same thing over and over again. I like that you went pretty in depth and, also, that you had them introduce the songs.

re: Summer Magic
Is this a lesser known Disney movie? I don't remember ever hearing about it. Ugly Bug Ball is pretty funny.
I think most of this music is kinda categorized as Tin Pan Alley, but I don't know. Marsh King's Daughter and 192 Days might fit that description better. It's been a while since I've heard those though. The early of Montreal albums have a lot of those types of songs. Sherri is probably also influenced by Beatles songs like When I'm 64 or Honey Pie. I lump all these types together, but that could just be me.

Thanks, that was a conscious objective. The difference is that I am a long time fan and I was able to ask things I wanted to know instead of just the usual "So what's it like to be in a band with your family" type questions. Even though that ended up being covered anyway. Very Happy I think they enjoyed the fact that this session was different from the usual as well. I requested they play Watch It Die with the intro and I Wasn't Prepared with Christie, neither of which they had done before except onstage.

That makes me happy. This also makes me really mad for reasons unknown to the public.

Except for me! I know. I know everything. We already discussed this, though. Smile

Late to the party, but I just had to say that this was great. The ladies sounded great, especially when they harmonized. Perfection for the ears, to say the least.

I feel sorry for Garron and Weston though. They're never in these things. Razz

I invited them all to participate but only the girls accepted. The guys apparently prefer to nap. I guess its because they end up doing all the heavy lifting in load in and load out.

After watching these, I'm inclined to think I wouldn't so much mind if Eisley released a nearly a capella/extremely minimal album. Kind of like Mountain Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TIccEXZQ1s).

Like that would ever happen though, really.
