www.twitter.com/mrpine that is mine. add me if you want. as for the benefit of twitter. I have noticed that, for celebrity types, i am more inclined to get a direct responce from them on twitter than anywhere else. _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... I'm really loving Twitter. It eliminates the need to go to tons of web sites in order to keep up with news and friends. If something interesting to me shows up with the people and organizations I follow, I just click on the hyperlink (if one is there) and go directly to the source. Or, you can go right to their own Twitter and under 'bio' is usually a web site. Twitter has cut down on my internet time considerably. How is everybody? I've missed you! |

so first there were blogs and xanga type sites that were basically like diaries that people could comment on then myspace basically took most of the personal/writing/intellectual content aspect away (yes, you can blog but i would say it's a pretty low percentage that does) and made it more a visual thing with pictures then facebook went even further - like myspace but you couldn't even personalize the look of the page and now twitter - basically the Status line of Facebook i'm sure i'm missing some things/movements, but isn't that basically the Origin of Species for internet blogdom? next i think they'll be a page where you just push a button on your phone or something and it will just be like Alive Dead or Breathing Not Breathing and they'll just light up accordingly. _________________ I am Torgo. I like how the simplicity of having a Twitter is completely invalidated by people discussing what you tweet on your message board. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

There was the story of the rescue attempt of the skiers where they used twitter to help in the search: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/mar/04/twitter-death-entrepr eneur-rob-william On the flipside, is this just an attempt for people to get their own news-tickers/ scroll?? _________________ yup, that's my name. yeah, today i was one state away at a hospital because my daughter was having surgery. I was able to text the surgery updates directly to my twitter, so those that wanted to know were able to find out with out me having to make a ton of phone calls. _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing...
