I love the Nellie McKay album. Great stuff. She even answered an e-mail I sent her. But that was right when the album came out. /Random story _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

My bedtime? That doesn't happen till 4 a.m.! LOL I actually wrote Nellie a letter a while back, but she has yet to reply. I was trying to ask her if she's ever heard of Eisley, Smoosh, or some of the other smaller groups I listen to that feature keyboards/piano in some of their music. She has yet to reply. Not a good sign. _________________ mojo shivers xiong ci sha shou |

I always thought she was so personable. When she came out to play L.A. this year, she seemed very easy to get along. Not that affluent people aren't easy to get along with, but when you bring up someone's affluence you tend to be pointing out a certain brand of snobbishness which I don't think she has ever exhibited to any discernible degree. _________________ mojo shivers xiong ci sha shou |

Nellie McKay, Jamie's future wife wrote: dear Jamie, thanks and happy early birthday - we're swinging through Austin midmarch, then rest of Texas in summer, i think - god bless and best, Nellie That was in March. She gets too much mail now. Shame. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I gotta check out that Arcande Fire CD... David Bowie called it and the Secret Machines the best albums of the year. And I definitely dig that Secret Machines CD. As far as different albums for me, The Autumns self-titled album is FREAKIN GOLD. I actually heard this album about a year ago because they're a friend of a friend, but it's up on iTunes now and is picking up steam and fans... check it: iTunes: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId =28049170 Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002VEQDE/qid=110181094 1/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1/002-0550834-5189605?v=glance&s=music&n=507846 _________________ |

I'd think she'd still be keen on the whole being adored and admired thing. I mean too much mail to physically answer. I guess a lot of people write her. Edit: New show online at: http://www.nelliemckay.net/mp3_Aldrich20040813.html I love that site so much ... _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
