I don't have either, but I've been reading up on ipods, and they're pretty much the best you can get, and they're worth their price. A bunch of my friends have them, they're awesome and some have games like solitare. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me!

iPods are the best. Get one. If you can scrape together the money, get a 4th gen. If you want to go cheaper (and don't have TOO much music) get a mini. Believe the hype. _________________ xanga | livejournal | photobucket | what I'm listening to |

iPods are pretty great -- they're definitely the best-looking, and if you have a lot of songs all tagged up on iTunes, I'd suggest going for one of those. HOWEVER, the iRiver IHP-120 is what I have, and I wholeheartedly recommend that as well. It's a bit thicker than an iPod and has a silver-and-black color scheme rather than white (which some prefer), and for the same price as an iPod by itself you also get a built-in radio tuner, voice recorder, remote, and leather case included. It also gets about 6 hours more battery life on average. However, it doesn't have any of the games, calendars, and whatnot that the iPod has, the file organization is a more bare-bones (by folders and filenames), and you can't make on-the-fly playlists (although they say a future firmware update will change that). Your choice. iPods look more impressive, iRivers have more features for the same price, but both are great investments. |

i like the iriver personally, but that's cos i don't need on the fly playlists or games or all that stuff, i just want music on my mp3 player, that's it. plus as phoenixdown noted some people, ie me like the silver and black look better. ipods are pretty good, i mean heck i'd get one if i had the money or i'd gladly accept one as a gift, and the itrip is pretty boss, plus if you got money you can customize your car to integrate with the thing so yeah, buy an ipod or an iriver...they're both stellar players _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

The new iPod Shuffle is only 99$ for 512megs. http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ _________________ "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." I have a silver mini iPod, and I love it. I thought I needed more space than 1000 songs, but I've uploaded all my CDs and mp3 files, and I still have room for twice that amount. They are a bit pricey, but they are very worth the money. The software and iTunes are very easy to use, too. My cousins got identical mp3 players, and they said the software is tricky and quite confusing. |

I'm going to recommend that you don't go super uber cheap and buy a Shuffle. It's "cool" and pocket size and all that jazz...but get this... You can't really pick what song plays, it randomly picks your song it has no display, it's flash based (which is very different then an iPod). No screen, no features, it's just a flash cartridge with play/pause/next/back/stop. That's it! Do a little research on a flash-based mp3 player and you'll run away screaming like a little girl in a horror flick. _________________ Chauntelle Rocks! |

one other thing about the iPod Shuffle... if you know the order of the songs in an iTunes playlist, then you can play them in order. so there are 2 choices for playing music. 1. the shuffle and 2. the playlist. either way, you can't choose songs like the iPod. (i still like it btw.) |

i got a 4th generation iPod, 20 gigabytes, with iTrip, and it kicks pretty hard. throw in a nice leather case, and you have a really sexy MP3 player... _________________ http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/Gameboybob/ http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=gameboybob http://www.myspace.com/thegameboy |
