In my opinion, most of the songs that Eisley has remade(talking about songs from their E.P. etc) haven't been as good as the originals. I might just be afraid of change : )...... or maybe I'm just stuck on the original sound. Any comments? |

welcome to the board!! you know, the same thing has happened to me I only listened to the new versions of "Telescope..." and "I wasn´t..." and I prefer the older versions too... but I guess it´s just a matter of getting used to them. I do like the new versions, but not as much as the older ones. I can´t wait to hear them all!!!!!!! _________________

I think "I Wasn't Prepared" was vastly improved, "Memories" is slightly better, and "Marvelous Things" is pretty much the same (I think it was just remixed and had new vocals recorded onto it). "Telescope Eyes" is the only one that I think suffered from the changes, but I never liked it a whole lot in the first place. Everything else seems to have been made a bit punchier, for the better... |

you cant contest that i wasnt prepared sounds LOADS better. i mean... the vocals are so much stronger.. the beat and piano ere way more jazzy.. jons bass parts stick out way more.. it makes the song feel totally different. when stacy first comes in its like the clouds open up and WHAM..BEAUTY...just a way more stronger song. i definitely like it better than the EP version. as for the others .. ehhh.. theres a growing process as an artist.. and you tweak things.. and i guess they wanted them tweaked? |

I think the EP version was BEAUTIFUL... now they added things that I consider unnecessary. Things like the background strings (or violins, I´m not sure what they are) and the part before "come back to me", I didn´t like those things very much. now, of course, that´s just my opinion... but then again, I guess it´s just a matter of getting used to it _________________

I love everything new except Lost At Sea. That room recording by Sherri off of the tape recorder was one of the most beautiful and haunting songs of all time and now I just can't get around how different it sounds. I like it still but in my opinion it's a totally different song. But on the upside, songs that I wasn't into before I am now, like Golly Sandra and Telescope Eyes, I think the new recordings of these are amazing. |

The new versions are different. I'm now used to most of them except the new Marvy Things. The vocals dont seem nearly as good. In the new one it sounds like Stacy's voice cracks during the "ahhhhaahhaahahaaa" part. _________________ http://www.nicholasvenaglia.com |

I will always prefer the original "Telescope Eyes." That slow, emotive tempo; that extra verse... It's beautiful. I think the new version is better suited for radio play, but they had to make a lot of sacrifices to get there. The old "Lost at Sea" is still the one I have engrained on my memory... specifically the Cole Studios preproduction version, with Craig Aaronson's jubilant commentary at the end. I've listened to that so many times that the Room Noises recording just sounds like a different song. Not bad, at all, just different. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

i feel the exact opposite about all the newer versions of the songs. I think they are all improvements over earlier recordings. Lost At Sea at Cole Studios is probably my fav version, but it's not areal recording, so eh. At first the new Tele Eyes was meh to me, but it's grown on my to become a favored version. All the rest are much better improvements on already great songs... _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |
