Is there a way to play the cd with winamp? When it plays through windows media player I get popping noises and each song slows down considerably. It's not the Laughing City cd; every cd I play through windows media player does that. However, using winamp works perfectly for cds. But, this cd is enhanced and so I cant seem to locate the songs to put into winamp (windows media player locates the songs magically and starts popping away). Any thoughts? _________________ "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." prov 16:3 |

Whenever I wanted to play CDs with Winamp... Fire up Winamp. Click the little icon in the very top, left hand corner of the main Winamp window (it's literally in the corner of the window). A menu pops up. Go down to "Play ->" from that menu and another menu pops up. Go down to where it says, "Audio CD E:" (where E is the drive letter of the drive you have the Eisley CD in) and click it. The CD should start playing right away. Works for me and my Laughing City CD. I'm using version 2.81 of Winamp. I don't know if the procedure is any different if you're using version 3. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

What version of winamp are you guys using? I have an older version and had to download a plugin or some sort to make it recognize CDs. Otherwise I'd have to go to the drive and open the individual .cda files _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

Popping noises can be caused by a couple of different things too....for instance copy protection. One issue could be that Digital Audio Extraction on your CDROM drive isn't working right. You can check by going to "Device Manager" and checking the properties on your CDROM drive.. if "Digital CD Playback" is not checked then check it... if it is then uncheck to test the analog connection (must have cable from drive to sound card). But if it only happens on Eisley CD's then there could be other issues. Try ripping the CD to high quality MP3's and reburning the CD if you can... just don't distribute it... I don't advocate piracy. |
