Its funny, 2 1/2 years to the day (15 Sep 02) I find myself back at the Masquerade in Atlanta. The last time I was here was for Coldplay. The show got rained out, but Chris and gang gave an impromptu performance in the parking lot. Ironically enough, Eisley had parked their trailer in almost the exact same spot. So, I got to the show and hour before gates open and there was already a long line; a good 200 people. (Note to Eisley fans, get to the show early if possible). Or you can just cut to the front like I did. I got to the stage in a prime spot right in front of Jon, (right in the middle of the Stacy-Sherri tag team). While waiting for Eisley to take the stage I talked to a few people around me and none of them had heard of Eisley; pity. One guy told me something peculiar though, he had been in line all day and saw a girl of Eisley attack a tall, skinny guy. Huh? More on that to come So, Eisley went on a 1/2 hour after the doors opened at 7:30 and unleashed a barrage of musical genius like no other. Really, they were just awesome! My only complaint, it was too short! They played the same 7 songs they're going to play all this tour (so get used to it) 1. Marvelous Things 2. My Lovely 3. Plenty of Paper 4. I Wasn't Prepared 5. Golly Sandra 6. Telescope Eyes 7. Memories. Here's another tip: after the set, ask one of the "tech guys" for an official setlist, he'll probably give it to you! The crowd was pretty decent. They gave a fair applause. It was better than the standard "courtesy/polite applause". I still think it should have been louder. I started clapping loudly a second before the songs ended in hopes of getting the crowd to follow my lead; it sorta worked. More paintball shenanigans! Here's where that weird "attack" story comes into play. During the set Sherri apologized for something that had apparently taken place earlier in the day in front of the world to see. Weston had accidently shot Sherri in the eye with a paintball. Sherri, not seeing the humor in almost being blinded by the projectile, proceeded to wail on Weston. But she assured us however, that they had made up since the unfortunate incident. Side note: Good for Sherri! Weston needed to have some sense knocked into him before he hurt someone else. I should also add that during the set, Weston kept looking all around him anticipating an attack from the members of NFG. Apparently at one point a couple of them were just off the side of the stage acting like they they were going to shoot him with paintballs. They should have done it! Anyway, that's it. I'll have pics of the show tomorrow. Again, it was a great show. If you were still deciding whether to shell out the money just to see Eisley open, DO IT!!! Its worth every cent! PS. Its so fun to watch Chauntelle perform, it seems she is so overcome with joy, you just can't help but smile along with her. AND HERE ARE YOUR PICS! Sorry about the quality, that's what you get with a disposable camera.

I'm sure most of them were very nice people, I was attempting to be funny. The other bands you ask? Is Horriblecrappysuckysuck a word? Actually, to be fair I didn't catch much of Reggie and the Full Effect. But apparently there was a guy dressed like a rabbit and they used a "powerwheels" type fire truck for something or other. As for NFG, sorry to say, I just didn't like them. I really wanted to, it was the first time I ever really heard their stuff. It was just your basic unoriginal, teenager angst, try to be cool, pre-manufactured, industry "punk" rock. Sure, its good to jump around and head bang too while you break a stool over your buddies head, but emotionally it didn't move me. I have to say though, the NFG fans really got into it. Boy did they! They were crowd surfing like crazy. People were being passed up to the stage at an alarming rate! But, alas the music just seemed soul less to me. |

Haha. Man, i was standing right behind you, with my girlfriend. Did you have like a baige sweater on and a crew cut? Because i was right in front of Sherri. These girls kept like leaning on me and they were all smoking like 300 cigarette's, so i had to leave smelling like crap. It was an AMAZING show though, well worth my 23 dollars, and the best part was meeting them after the show, they were all really sweet and nice. Chauntelle is just full of life and i finally got to meet Sherri and Stacy as well, really sweet girls, I also spoke to Weston too, he did seem like someone was after him though, hah. I didn't get a chance to talk to Jonathon though, he was watching Reggie and i didn't want to bother him or anything. I can't wait until they come back, but after they get their break, with how long this tour will be, they will need some rest. It was nice to finally meet you guys. |

Hahaha... It sounds like the show went awesome though! No sound problems? If that is so..that is almost unheard of at the Masquerade! _________________ And it's so sad to see the world agree That they'd rather see their faces fill with flies All when I'd want to keep white roses in their eyes.

We spent some time in the Eisley van interviewing them at the Atlanta show last night. The interview will be posted in it's entirety at Indie Access Radio within the next few days. _________________ Indie Access Radio www.indieaccessradio.com

Yep, that was me, I hope I didn't block your view! diggum wrote: I can't wait until they come back, but after they get their break, with how long this tour will be, they will need some rest. I'm not sure, how much rest they'll actually take. I heard that they might go back out on tour after maybe only a couple weeks rest. Hopefully they'll still be home during the BBQ date. |

I dont know, i tend to be a shy person, and besides i wasn't exactly sure if it was you so i didn't want to end up "You're the guy from the forum!" to the wrong person, but oh well. That's kinda funny how we ended up right next to each other, hurry up and develope those pics you were taking. I went and hung out with them for a bit after the show, i tried to get my friend to get his iPod signed by them so he could have an EisleyPod, but he would have none of it, i know if i had an iPod it would have their sig's all over it. hah. |

Hah, i actually didn't end up wearing a blue and white striped shirt, i wore some brown shirt, but nah i didn't get a set list copy, but i saw some girls who had gotten a few. Did you grab one? I ended up buying a lithograph after i had talked to the girls, then i went back up to them and got them to sign it. Im looking at this map here and if i follow I-20 for 10 hours i could go to that BBQ in Tyler this summer, maybe for like a summer road trip or something. If i get my new car by then, it sounds like a plan to me. |

They're not autographed, but if you want one its all yours. diggum wrote: Im looking at this map here and if i follow I-20 for 10 hours i could go to that BBQ in Tyler this summer, maybe for like a summer road trip or something. I know we've been sorta quiet recently, but things are still in the works for that, just to let you know.
