Last year, I had the chance to watch Eisley in concert. (At Voodoo Fest.) But halfway through Marvelous Things, I walked out on them. I thought that their music was good, but that they seemed a little boring on stage.

Well, now I'm kicking myself for leaving. I've been growing more and more interested with this band. Their music is nice and poetic, but the weird thing is, that isn't the reason I now like them. It's the personality behind their music. (I was really surprised when I found out that some of them are Radiohead fans.)

So I guess my question would be, does anyone else feel the way I do? Or do you not feel like you can relate with them that much, but you like the sound of their music more?

P.S. And I wouldn't say this is because I'm an obsessive fan or anything like that, since I had a hard time buying their debut cd.

P.P.S. Have fun stumbling over my odd grammar.

I'm noticing that I'm starting to play out some of their melodies in my guitar playing but I think that's the extent of their influence on me (I think...)

Some of the styles of Sherri and Stacy's singing(just a way that they sing something will give it more character)made me get more interested in singing...when I'm working out a song or learning to play a new song, I'll think about ways to say something that would make it more...there? I don't know. I'm being blah.

I sing the word "Smile" like Sherri. Shocked

To be honest, eventhough there is a lot of stuff about them all over the laughing city and the internet, I really don't feel like I know very much about them. This causes me to be hesitant about the idea of emulating any of them. Plus, they are all still pretty young, except maybe Chaunty, who I might actually be able to relate to in a more than just friendly manner. I don't mean like that, I just mean that I'd think we'd have a little more to talk about. I don't know. I guess I don't believe we could be similar people. Our experiences are too different. However, that doesn't preclude a meaningful relationship by any stretch. I'm not sure if this made sense and I apparently don't care.

If they're music is any indication of their personality...

...then no, I don't identify with them. It doesn't seem like there's very much information about their personal lives outside of this forum. It's funny how you can pick up those piano and guitar parts for any given Eisley song in 2 seconds but once you try to sing the lyrics, it all falls apart. Yeah, I'd have to say their sound is what hooked me, mostly because I can't think of anyone else who really sounds like them...

i think i can't relate to them but I would love to be able to. They are all so creative with their music and it makes me feel so, blah, and unoriginal. Then again my life is headed in a different direction, so I can't really compare our lives. As for personality, I don't know them, so I couldn't say.

But they are definitely good role models.
