I may and most likely are wrong by my take is this song may be based oh the beautiful Christie Dupree. Someone please steer me in the right directions of what this song is really based on if anyone actully knows. Also if their is a place that tells the origins of the songs that might be nice to. Just rambling again, Katy.

That theory crossed my mind as well. The lyrics seem to be written from the POV of a parent or other relative to a young child. It certainly makes sense to postulate that Stacy wrote it for Christie.

I think it's Sun Feet that Christie helped inspire. At least the title. I can't remember ...

Stacy wrote it about me, the lost DuPree child.

i would think it would be mother daughter considering the lyric is, "oh you are my scar"

but i mean, if its not meant to be literal it could be father daughter.

Yeah, but...if it were literal, it might instead be,
"Oh, you are my stretch mark"

I don't think it is about Christie. I think it could just be about the situation in the song. I mean, I don't think it had to be inspired by one single person they know, but rather just that type of person in general.
