well, i posted this on e-merge, but more people might hit it up from over here, so... i get to brag because i was honored enough to have seen eisley twice yesterday at amoeba records as well as at slims, where they opened on the b2b tour. the turnout at amoeba was rather large, considering other groups like jurassic5 [v. popular urban hip-hop] brought in about the same number of people. i'd say there were about 100 folks there specifically watching [not just shopping]. their set was 8 songs long, and it was a girls-only event. jon and weston were nowhere to be found, but it makes sense that weston's skins weren't brought in because they had to be set up at another place less than an hour after finishing. stacy had her rhodes; chauntelle had her lotus [strat look-alike]; sherri had a guild [i think] acoustic guitar. the sound was mixed very very well [boyd says he did it himself], and the band performed impeccably as normal. there were a few hiccups in places, but sherri said she was sorry and admitted that they weren't so good at these improv in-stores...yet. i beg to differ. the three band members were chatting with fans and other folk before their set started at 6, and they even signed some eager fans' items. i remained posted up at my prime spot, though, since i knew i could get signatures [for out-of town friends] later. but i'm glad i stayed put because i had a really good view and hearing spot for their set. unfortunately for some, the set ran a bit long, and the girls were unable to sign afterwards because they had literally 20 minutes to get clear across town for a sound check [which they probably missed]. i asked for a ride from them, since i was heading there anyway, but they had to politely decline because the van was full [the rhodes!]. all-in-all, the in-store was very well done, and lots of new listeners stopped to see them play, and i even saw some people picking up their album on the way to the registers. so here's a gift for those of you who weren't able to make it, or are just wondering how these in-store performances go. this special kind of bootleg is for you... http://dons.usfca.edu/jaquino right-click and "save as" mp3s [160 kbps]. the only part that may be particularly bad is the first track, memories, because the audio mix was really loud at first, and they made proper adjustments afterwards. other than some static from distortion in that first song, the rest of it is rather clean and good. i have also made the tracks include *every*thing that happened from the first announcement to the last, so that whoever's listening can pretend/relive the moments again. enjoy! ~richie _________________ my sites: my download.com music page more music xanga myspace |

hey cool, thanks for the mp3s... question, did you ask boyd if you could post these? it doesn't really matter now cos it's already happened, but as a courtesy I like to check with boyd before posting anything, he's real sensitive about what makes it out to the public en mass... _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

There is also a mess up in marvelous things, they miss some lyrics in the last chorus. I haven't had the time to disect the rest of the tracks, but those two stuck out like sore thumbs even as i glazed over the tracks. Right then and there, based on my previous dealings with boyd i would assume he wants the concert kiboshed. Now i can't speak entirely for him, because, as i've said MANY times before, i am not boyd, but my guess is he didn't want this concert to go out on the web, but it's already happened and no one can do anything about it, taking it down would just be silly at this point. For future reference, and to keep things kosher, i would send boyd a PM containing the material you wish to release and a message simply asking if it's ok to release this material on the forum and other places on the web, or if you are so inclined to distribute it for free in some sort of physical medium like a CD. Above all else remember to be patient with boyd, he sleeps less than speed addicts, juggles 12 dozen tasks simultaneously and has the memory span of a chipmunk. So wait a while, and send a reminder after oh...a week and a half with no response. and that kids, is how you legitimate any eisley stuff you want to release to the public _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

I enjoyed Lost at Sea a lot. Besides the fact I love that song to death, one of the reasons I like Eisley so much is that they seem to be the most "normal" out of a lot of musicians out there. And I don't mean "Plain and dull" normal.. It might just be me, but I like the fact that they are down to Earth, and to me, see things and people as people. (At least, that's how I see Eisley that is Maybe i'm just jibbering, but that's how I see it. And I mean this in a 100% commenting way. They also said My Lovely doesn't come off good. I thought it was awesome. _________________ UPDATE: REAL MYSPACE LINK! http://www.myspace.com/2399095 Check out my FLICKR and leave comments!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/28644084@N00/

Human beings!! Holy cow, Eisley are human! I thought it was endearing that Lost at Sea had a rou- ermmm...Tidal wave beginning. Stuff like that happens. It's no big deal. _________________ Gosh, writings music Ryan5 wrote: I still love Eisley a gamahucheing million time better than farting |
