so, how long did it take between eisley getting signed, and to get noticed by Chris Martin? and how in the world did Chris Martin hear about a "small" little tyler band?!? i can only imagine such an elated reaction by whoever answered that phone call... trying to come up with that first word, whatever it's going to be, to tell the band... this post needs a smiley |

JD That's too common a name for me to know who you're talking about. I think my babysitter's brother was named Chris Martin. Is that who you're talking about? _________________ If the end of the world has proper noodles I'll probably be okay with it. |

Technically, I don't think Eisley was signed before Coldplay heard about them. MossEisley signed with Warner Brothers in February of 2003, while their first shows opening for Coldplay were in late January. As for how the band found out about MossEisley, recordings travel fast. Someone who adored the band's early EPs probably gave a copy to someone else, who gave a copy to someone else, who gave a copy to someone who knew Coldplay, and that person gave it to Coldplay. _________________ INTELLECT AND ROMANCE OVER BRUTE FORCE AND CYNICISM Smokemonster |

Eisley was in contact with the record labels in late 2002, but didn't actually sign to WB until early 2003. At that time, Coldplay's management company was Nettwerk Managment. In early 2003, Coldplay's manager Dave Holmes discovered Eisley and signed them up with Nettwerk, and Dave became Eisley's manager too.....this was before Eisley signed their recording contract with WarnerBrothers. That was how Coldplay found out about Eisley: they shared the same manager. Eisley was represented by Nettwerk unitl later in 2003, when Dave and a guy named Casey Wasserman formed their own management company, DC Music Management. Eisley moved along with them, Coldplay too, and DC management still represents Eisley today, and also Coldplay, and i think they still represent Rancid too, they used to. If you're curious about Casey Wasserman, he is a multi-millionaire businessman and philanthopist, he is the grandson of Lewis Wasserman, former head of MCA/Universal Studios. Visit this link for more info. http://www.laavengers.com/aboutus_casey.php Between their Management and their being signed to WB, Eisley is pretty well connected! All this didn't occur by happenstance....these people recognize the talent, and profit potential, of Eisley, else they wouldn't be involved. Coldplay will embark on the American part of their tour later this summer, i am curious if Eisley will tour with Coldplay again! |
