"Pirates are way cooler than ninjas". Discuss. I ask because it's a debate that's been kicking round my school all day (apart from the one about whether laws are absolute or whether their there to help form a better society. with it came a debate about what human nature is). So, for those who are more visually minded, in Picture War terms:

I didn't vote because neither of these are correct. A pirate cancels out a ninja, so there's no winning. We found that a pirate who is also a ninja is where things start to get interesting. Then the debate turns to: pirate-ninjas vs. robot-pirate-ninjas Interesting indeed... _________________ -adm |

incorrect. We already had that debate and agreed that, since ninjas are only trained to be stealthy and kill, the would not know how to live on a ship. and since pirates are loud and boistrous and have good banter, could not be a ninja. So you can not merge ninjas and pirates. It just doesn't work. I've never liked that character, although because it's Weebl an Bob we can make an exception. i positively hate that episode. The trouble with your outcome, though perfectly logical, is it does not take in to account that both ninjas and pirates have one important personality trait in common. They are both chock-full to the brim with surprises. They both live their lives via clever ploys and battles of wits long before a katana, cutless, shuriken, or musket is wielded. It is not accurate to assume that a ninja is always quiet. What of those times they leap from a dark corner or bush or something with a traditional Kiai? Happens pretty often. And what of the pirate who has just finished that last bottle of rum for the evening? He is passed out, and barely audible. Surprise! They can be quite or loud independantly of their class. The core pirate class cancels out the core ninja class because of the sheer power of wit and skill. It is a stalemate every time. So, in the off chance the pirate and ninja stop attempting to fight eachother and learn the skills (read: nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills...) of the other, they homogenize into a powerful being indeed. Then, a force of opposition naturally creates the robotic version of the pirate-ninja. It is the way of things. <3 _________________ -adm |
