Why isn't there a "No" option?
The 2nd one is not definitive enough.

no i'm not in band, i'm in colorguard. I had band camp last week. It was hot outside.

Played the trumpet for 7 years (starting in middle school) became the section leader in my Senior year. Band is something interesting in high school, you share a common bond with those people even long after you graduate.

Who are the first people you look for when you have new classes?
People in band.
Even if you don't really know them, you sit next to them anyway because you share that bond.

...sorry, kinda went off on a tangent there...heh...what was the question again?

I'm gonna tell a story.
Today I went to bandcamp.
I enter the building through the music wing, and the drum major, Tom, waves at me, giving me the goofiest look ever. I didn't really think he was waving at me (we're not friends) until he stared me RIGHT. IN. THE. EYE. It was kind of weird. So I just smiled with a goofy smile back. He's not Tom the Tank Engine.

Then, I get into the school, and Will, a senior... slap on my name tag for me! Wasn't that nice? I didn't even have to peel it off the paper, he did it for me. :]

Then when we were picking marching numbers, all the low brass were together and we did that thing from the movies where one part goes up, the other goes down... nevermind, I can't explain it.

Um, it was goodtimes.

Woohoo! I'm in marching band. And I'm the best tenor saxophonist in the entire Band.... the fact that I'm the only tenor saxophonist is irrelevant

I am in band!! ...on clarinet.
The '05 marching season started months ago for me... this year we're heading up to Atlanta for BOA Regional Championships!!!! I'm SO excited. We're also going to Orlando (states), Tampa (competition, I guess), Palm Beach (competition[s]), Washington DC (just because my band director feels like it? lol it's a Wind Ensemble trip), etc. I love band!! (Not only for the trips but for the friendships and competitions, etc. Great stuff. Very Happy

)

My goal is to become a drum major next year. Because DRUM MAJORS = ...gods. Smile

Band is uber amazing.

He was in my jazz band last year, he probably thinks I'm awesome... I quote him, "Hey Carrie! Are you gonna be in jazz this year?" I remember when we had our last jazz band and we went around saying what we thought improved, he said, "Our bass players, they're awesome, now. I remember when Carrie came in and she was freaking out, now she's way more confident"

I guess it's true... MEN LIKE CONFIDENT WOMEN.

I played flute in my school's concert band for 3 years in Junior High. It was fun. But now I go to a highschool where there is no band. I miss it. I was a total band geek. But so were all the cool kids. My school was small.
