I used to watch a lot of TV. So much that it would take away from me studying for school, sometimes it would keep me from even going to school. Nick and I always ate while watching TV. We would always go to sleep while watching TV.
So one day, we decided to just cancel our cable bill. It was about $100 dollars a month for every channel (Nick worked at a cable company).
Honestly, it was the best decision we ever made. Sometimes I still want to flick on the TV and watch the news... or Oprah. But we get so much more done! We still rent/buy movies, but we don't watch very many.
It seems like everyones lives revolves around TV. So how many hours a day do you zone out in front of the tube?

1-2 hours, but not really every day. tuesday nights and sunday nights are pretty much it, aside from the occasional episode of seinfeld or the simpsons.

i like to watch television on the evenings that Law and Order are on.
but i'm not much for just random channel surfing. So, 0-1 hours a day, I would say on average.

My TV is on a lot for background noise, but I don't always pay attention. Let's see... I'd say about 2 and a half - 3 hours a day. I watch Dr. Phil every day. And I HAVE to sleep with the TV on. I'm afraid of sleeping with it off, and a little noise helps me fall asleep.

However, I normally turn on the TV around 11 when I get home at night, and then go on the computer, but I don't pay attention, and then it's on till I fall asleep.

Over summer vacation, I usually watch about 2-4 hours maybe... but once school starts, I could watch 0-2 a day. I definitely don't watch TV as much as I used to.

None - partly because I haven't got a tv in my uni room
I tend to watch films instead

I swear, that TV is evil! I feel like i'm programmed to put on the TV when I haven't watched for a long time. Even when there's nothing on, I always just end up putting on ESPN, who make news out of absolutely nothing. Of course, sports is an equally frusterating addiction.

I voted zero, but in actuality it adds up to about ten minutes a day if you stretch an episode of Lost over one week. I hate commercials (and most shows) too much to subject myself to TV more often.

2-3 is the average, as The Price Is Right, Adult Swim, The Amazing Race, and Survivor are the only shows I watch with any regularity (and half of that list is only on once a week).

If I find a good movie on though, It increases for 5 or 6 hours.
