Posted: Mon Nov 07, 2005 2:29 pm Ok here's the story. i shot with a Canon A-1 and a 1.8/50 prime. The film is Fujifilm NPH (400) rated at 375...and i'm pleased with the number of usable shots i ended up with. these are mostly undoctored...so expect better versions to get posted and replace these soon...but i'm starting to get sick, and i might not get to it for a few days. forgive the graininess and other flaws, i assure you, they all look far far better when viewed with the eye. thanksyou to boyd once again for the hookup with the photo pass, i hope i did well by it. edit: oh and i have a couple of weston and garron too...but theyre gonna take a little work.
more:
i shouldn't even post this one, its so crap...but i like it for whatever reason _________________ knives don't have your back. |

Those shots are sooo rocknroll! Seriously, they're amazing. I wish I had my own camera. I am quite interested in photography. _________________ Thistledown |

Awesome photos. You shot roughly what I do. I might try film next time I see them. Or maybe I'll be cool and use two cameras (digital and film) ... I usually shoot 1600 ISO (which is grainy as crap sometimes), and roughly f/2.something or f/1.something. It's a fast 50mm, which is a great concert lens. The shutter varies with the lights, but sometimes I have to tone it and the f/stop down to keep the color of the lights from overwhelming the picture. If I were more brave (and had more than 2 songs to shoot), I'd probably take it back to 800 ISO and see what I get. Of course, concert photos are becoming a crapshoot. Last time I shot, I only got 2 songs, the time before I couldn't get past security in time. I was stuck back a little bit during the Philly headlining show (but still got good shots). And this last show I went to (Philly again), I couldn't even get the camera in. And wow, did I ramble. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

yea i took a huge huge risk with ISO 400 film, but it worked, as you can see, pretty dang well. i got 3 songs to shoot but had to negotiate shooting around another photographer. to be honest, i dont think i'll ever shoot digital at a show again, at least not an eisley show. not after this. i'm very pleased... _________________ knives don't have your back. |

nice pics jay! i've been wanting to get the canon ae-1 after seeing the photos in this thread... http://midlake.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=486 the poster's name is also jay (jason)... weird, isn't it? it looks like you flipped one of them... the one with stacy in the foreground and chauntelle in the back... she's always on the left if i'm not mistaken. gotchya! and don't worry about the grainy-ness, i like the grain. good stuff man. and this strengthens my decision to pursue finding this old cam. |

Everytime I see Sherri do this, I pray for Weston to bust out a double bass drum beat and then see Sherri head bang. _________________ UPDATE: REAL MYSPACE LINK! http://www.myspace.com/2399095 Check out my FLICKR and leave comments!!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/28644084@N00/
