Which do you like better? Pretend weather wasn't an issue, and it wasn't cold or raining.

I'm partial to outdoor shows, I just think pictures come out a lot nicer, it adds a different feel. And usually it's less hot and gross feeling (unless it's hot outside, that's another story)

Outdoor shows are really fun. It's just this really relaxed, cool atmosphere.

definately indoors: It's more "personal" with the band, more intimate. Closer, so you can see what's going on. And in the summer/autumn you don't need to worry too much about what to wear - it'll be mild all the time, so you can get away with two tees and a jumper.

Outdoors can be good, such as just being with more people, but then the crowd interaction can be a bit crap "hello GLASTONBURY!" comes to mind, from no particular artist.

Inside

Shows held outside are too distracting. When inside a venue you have secluded yourself from the world/non-show people/reality and serves as a sort of environmental tunnel vision.

It is also very difficult to have an intimate connection with a band when they play outside, it's about as intimate as a soccer game really.

The sound indoors will almost always sound much better than anything held outside.

Indoors, for the sound quality. It all just bouncing all around you.

But outdoor shows are definitely fun on some ocassions. Like big festivals (when you don't expect that intimacy). Or night shows on grassy hills, where you can listen while watching the stars..(That's what the Waikiki Shell is like).

I've never been to an outdoor show, but I'm from Florida (where the only seasons we get are hot, hotter, and hurricane) and all the outdoor shows are during summer... so yeah, that's not very enjoyable... not that I'm saying indoor shows are any better because everyone is pretty much stuck to each other, but it beats standing out there with the sun scorching AND with people stuck to me. So I voted for indoor.

It really depends on both the band and the size of the concert for me.

Really small outdoor shows with the right band are amazing, but going to massive festivals or seeing incredibly loud performances outdoors just doesn't jive with me.
