Is when I am listening to music in the ONLY room with computers, and someone comes in here and turns on the TV. This bugs me because we have a lot of TVs in our house. So why choose the room with computers?

My question to you is:
When someone comes in here to watch TV and I am listening to music (before they come in here) should I have to turn my music down? I don't think so.

NO!

I HATE that too. We have like three TV's in the house. Granted, the biggest is in here (the computer room). But my brothers always turn it on to stupid shows...just to play in the background while they do other things like play video-games. And I get soooo angry!
I start despising television.
I really do not like that stupid box.

i voted no. that used to happen to me all the time. but the other way around. i would be watching tv and my mom would turn on her stupid music and start dancing around and being all loud.

but what i hate more is trying to sleep with my brother playing his guitar.

My roommate liked to turn on his own music whenever I am playing mine, that pissed me off so much.

luckily, my computer's in my room, and the TV is outside in the bonus room. but! it used to be out there, and my brother would turn it on all the time. it used to make me SO mad that I would have to turn down my music.

but. he's older, so he always had his way.

thank goodness for big "mouse-ear" headphones! Very Happy

I voted no.

We have two TVs, but one aint working. It annoys me when I'm working on the computer. If I am I get headphones.

Or use the partop (laptop) in my room.

I have seven TVs and six computers in my house so I never really have that problem, but I could imagine it pissing me off.

No, you shouldn't have too. But another solution would be to get some headphones.

no not at all but if you turn your music on after the tv is already on then it is a different situation.

I can empathize with sharing a room with a TV. It depends on the situation, but it sounds like you should not have to acquiesce so easily.

Jamie also has a good solution that could help you out a lot.

Yes. I prefer headphones 9 out of 10 times anyway. Just invest in a nice enclosed pair and you will be glad you did.
