It's usually only thick accented hicks that add r's in strange places over here.
Like my mom's parents. Okay--they're not hicks--they're from the eastern shore. But they say "warsh" instead of "wash."
Weird.

I'm sure it sounds different to add the random "r" with a "dignified" british accent though.
But WHY?! Why add an un-needed "r" sound? When I imagine it in my head it sounds ugly...

My mother says 'warsh" or "Warshington". I used to get a big kick out of it. She was from Michigan originally. Not sure where she picked that up from.

that's only becuase you're posh. i say gl-ass but i'm ENGLISH THROUGH AND THROUGH.

well. except for the parts that are irish and welsh.

"dial" in Welsh means "revenge". If a welsh speaker enters an English phone booth, having paid the coin/phone card the next command the l.e.d screen throws at the customer is "revenge!" thus setting the tone for a confrontational conversation.

Gl-ARSE Razz

And C-AR-sel!

It's because Penguin are I are middle-class fellow from the 'south' of English who play cricket on our well-kempt lawns and eat our scones with jam.

How would you pronounce 'scone'?

I think you just like putting Rs in words that don't have them.
