this would be a very mild thread. Not at all lock-worthy. And Patrock thinks she's getting cool points siding with the forum expert. Up front with people, albeit rude? One doesn't need to be rude to get their point across. One doesn't need to put down someone who has an opinion even if they don't agree with that opinion, and can still get their point across. No, Ben is very intelligent in many areas and can run rings around most anyone on the forum when it comes to indie and alternative music. No doubt about that. And he can put that as a silly quote at the bottom of his page if he is so inclined. But he would rather waste his time trying to make others feel inferior to him, particarly newbies. I am not on here to try to impress anyone and am sorry that I was rude earlier in this thread. That is generally not my style. And, no. I have no desire to be a mod as I'm sure Ben doesn't. Who would want the aggravation?

As I said before he has just apparently never learned tact. He obviously hasn't attended medical school, but I would'nt care debate him. I just laugh at his put downs, and will refrain from discussing him or anyone in this manner anymore.

. Sophie says we need to have more fighting on the board and I'm seeing her point.

no. fighting solves nothing. especially on forums. this is the LAUGHING CITY, its a nice place, with nice people.. usually (i hate that i have to say that now). just my thoughts

Agree. Sorry again. And I'm pretty sure Sophie was just bored with the threads she was seeing at the time she said that.

I can't ignore you, The. the board has become somewhat bland.

hence why i made lots of random threads to try and make it more entertaining.

Ben has a lot of good points. He is just sincere, but has never been taught or learned tact.

You responded to my post with tact, The_Sympt0m responded tactless.

No biggie, me thinks he just likes to see discussions about himself.

you don't even know Ben. judging a book by its cover is what we are all told not to do. therefore, don't do it.

you have to go to med school to learn tact? thats news to me.

as you correctly say, i don't think she does either. i'm not sure there is any point caring about your status on this forum. there are always people who you think are lower than you, or indeed, higher.

True I don't know him except for what I see in this forum. He appears very intelligent, but with little tact.

I guess John wrote most of the bass stuff. Are you getting to write
the bass parts for the new songs?

i seem to remember something about jon would help garron know the bass parts for the older songs, but maybe that was just my mind. my guess is that garron will write the new stuff, perhaps with suggestions/ideas from the others. Smile

hey, when we play that song live...i dont really get to crank it up too much on that song. but im sure the bass is usually louder live than on the record.

but yes jon did write the bass parts for all of the current songs, he is a great bass player and i think the bass lines add a lot to the song as well. but i will be writing all the bass lines for the new album. hopefully i will be able to fill jons shoes well. but we'll see...

Thanks Garron for the info.

I was listening to telescope eyes in my car the other day and noticed that bass part and thought it was really cool. I kept repeating it over a couple of times. I wished it was a little louder and thought it might be live, like the bass in tree tops live is more noticeable.

Anyway, looking foward to hearing the new music.
