yeah I've often wondered about that... it's like the perfect distortion. The kind that is just amazing listening to. The kind I never seem to be able to make... lol. nathan _________________ "nathaniel" www.purevolume.com/GORADIO www.myspace.com/GORADIO www.myspace.com/natesmith |

I think Chauntelle uses a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 (my favourite OD pedal ever.. specially w/ the toggle), and a tubescreamer. Both girls use Fulltone Fulldrive 2s and Ibanez Tubescreamers. I believe they use the Tubescreamers for boost though, but I'm not sure because I thought the Fulldrive had a boost in it already... Is the Fulldrive really that great? I've heard good things about it, but it's expensive... _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

I generally use the "vintage", but for a few songs I will switch the toggle up, and it adds a nice gain without sounding overdrive-ish at all, and I don't have to mess with the knobs at all! It's so convenient. I use a couple other OD pedals also, but you should check 'em out. Well worth the money. |

I was just wondering because you can look hard and find a Budda Phatman for the same price, which is more like a low-powered preamp than an overdrive pedal... But a Fulltone would be built better, so I was wondering if solid state is an issue (with a tube amp). Plus there's the boost, is it a volume boost or a gain boost? What kind of pedals do you like to use, Dana? _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. Facebook |

The fulldrive 2 is actually a tubescreamer with a few minor differences, the biggest is assymetrical clipping in the drive section(makes it sound a whole lot better). A tubescreamer boosts it all nicely. I have no idea why to boost it with a ts-9 when the fulldrive already has boost, but I guess it sounds better. I made a fulldrive 2 clone but it's not working yet _________________ http://www.namusrock.com/ still under construction |
