That whole ordeal is simply ridiculous. A venue that significant, that's been around for that long, shouldn't have to deal with crap like that from the authorities. Are they under new management or something? It doesn't say anything negative about Eisley or Eisley's show. It doesn't even make Eisley out as bad guys for having a huge crowd (wasn't that show like over 550? For Nash, that's so awesome. The way the band's fanbase is growing is so amazing). I just hope this mess, that keeps being brought up again and again, doesn't turn Eisley off of Nashville, because, like I said, they have a hugeeee market there.  _________________ "Dang D, you ain't goin' up that hill is you?" I don't see how this could have a negative impact on Eisley other than some fans went home unhappy or less happy than should be the case after an Eisley show (some not getting in, others getting rushed out of there after a shortened set). They will need to book a larger capacity club next time through is all. |

He's right, 100 people in that club looks silly. I was at that show and with 500 or more people there was still breathing room. There's no reason that place should have 100 people capacity. None. |

Since I moved to the area 2 years ago I've always wondered why the nashville "rock" scene hasn't been up to par with the city I am originally from, St. Louis (and sometimes St. Louis even lacks) . I would go see band's in nashville that I had been seeing at sold out shows in St. Louis for years and Nashville's crowds never added up, ever. A band that would sell out a similar club in St. Louis would only draw 50-100 people in Nashville. Possibly its demographics in play here but I think a lot of it has to do with the strict beverage/capacity laws deterring potential business to these clubs. The first thing that boggled my mind was the "no alcohol at all ages shows" Coming from a city where both all ages fans and 21+ fans could come and enjoy themselves at shows by just having 2 different two different handstamp/wristband combinations for those of age and for those underage, I wasn't sure why this rule was in place. Let me tell you, being over 21, going to an all ages show makes you feel old enough, having to go to the bar next door to have a drink is ridiculous. I think this turns off a lot of the over 21 crowd to shows where they know its "all ages" Secondly, if you serve alcohol you HAVE to serve food too? in turn you HAVE to have tables if you serve food? what kind of laws are these? How many tiny clubs around the country do you know that serves a full menu of dining choices? not many....so why do alcohol and food have to go together? if you want a burger you can catch one down the street after the show. I agree with the consenus that 100 in a room of exit/in's size is laughable. Even with the tables set up a 100 person capacity gives enough room to run races or do cartwheels. there was well over 500 in the room without tables, and there was still room to walk, move and have a good time. if the tables MUST be there to comply with ridiculous codes, then the capacity could surely be 300ish. |
