When the Final Noise tour was announced I hopefully awaited an Albuquerque, New Mexico date. Sure Eisley has only played here once and yeah it was an opening gig for New Found Glory nearly a year ago and yes they had gone on tour a few times after said tour and hadn't stoped here, yet I still had high hopes that this time around they would finally make a return to New Mexico. Sadly, when the dates were announced Albuquerque was no where to be found. In fact the closest shows were in Arizona. Researching the dates I had found out that school would be over and that my sisters and I could make a road trip one state over and see Eisley! But less than a week prior to the show my sisters backed out leaving me hella bummed that I would miss my last chance to see my favorite band play live before they start recording their new record. Thinking of what to do, a light bulb popped in me head. Chris I said. Chris a good friend of mine had recently moved out to Tempe, AZ to attend school. So like any good friend these days I immediately myspaced messaged him (followed by many phone calls) as to if he would be down to catch the E live and let me crash at his pad for the weekend. After much sweet talk he reluctantly said "sure". Thus began my journey via a crammed Southwest airliner to see EISLEY!!!
- - - - - April 28th, 2006 : Time-Zones R Fun 7:30am boarded the plane to Phoenix 7:45am landed in Phoenix
Funfact : We ate in and out burger for lunch and dinner. We don't have any in NM, I love the stuff. - - - - - April 29th, 2006 : Brainfreeze or waiting outside 3 hours before a rock and roll show in 100 deg. weather is... fun Saturday started off pretty good. Chris, Leah (his roommate) and I headed out to their school's film fest in Tempe. After catching all the films we got some pizza then departed from Leah whom had school obligations to obligate. At about 4:00pm with nothing to do we decided to head out toward the Clubhouse venue that was but only a few blocks away. Right as we found a parking spot I spotted Brighten and Eisley crossing the parking lot towards a 7-11 convenience store. ( A few fans who were waiting there before we showed up followed them in.
We decided though to sit at the bench in front and wait. After a 20 mins or so I got restless, so chris suggested he take "glamour shots" of me with my owl bag. Shortly after our exhausting photoshoot Chauntelle came outside and talked with us. She suggested we get a popsicle to beat the heat. A great ideaer although I was super thirsty and thats when a great idea came to mind. Slurpee, I proclaimed loudly! Melding the ice cold refreshing coolant of a popsicle with the active hydrating effects of a soda pop, a Slurpee seemed to be the only logical option to combat the hellish arizona heat.
With the slurpee working like a charm we sailed though the next few hours refreshed as can be for the rock show.
- - - - - April 30th, 2006 : THEY WON'T BE PLAYING FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS! Chris had been a super host. We drove to places, he bought me space food at Fry's and even let me feed his "pet" ducks, whom congregate outside his balcony day after day awaiting bready treats. He was great and the fact that he lent me 3 pillows to sleep with was generous enough, but it could only be a second Eisley show that could ice my cake. Chris had been swamped with homework and the fact that the second Arizona show was in Tucson, a 100+ miles away was enough to make him scoff at my proposition to make the trek. That was until all puppydogg eyed I said "Ahh, but yeah they probably won't be playing another show for like 2 years." That line touched his heart and he not so promptly agreed and so began our Tucson adventure. In normal fashion, we left around 5 hours early... Although we did sit outside the venue for a few hours, the early departure was a blessing in disguise since there was an unannounced venue change (Boyd did post it but we had left before that). Arriving at the City Limits club we knew something was up, there was no eisley posters in site or actually anything or person in site so we decided to head to the nearest Zia Records. It was at that fine establishment that we learned of the change of venues to Club Congress via Zia's wonderful staff.
- - - - - May 1st, 2006 : IKEA Today we got up early and headed over to Collins College so Chris could do some school things after that we headed to Ikea for my first visit ever. Its an amazing store! I wish I could furnish my home with all its great little goodies.
Now I'm here in the airport finishing up my little journal. Word. I had an awesome weekend, if only I could have gotten my 10 year old sister a shirt signed as she requested. But she is very happy for her new Eisley shirt for which I'm sure she will wear to school tomorrow. The concerts were amazing and hanging with an old friend was great. Thanks EISLEY!

that's the best post-gig post I've ever read. Cheers. I particularly loved the notebook covers! _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she?
