I've always wanted to make a thread to have a place where the minority Eisley listeners could come together to share their love of Eisley! When I say minority, I mean those who are hispanic, black, Jewish, Muslim, Indian, Asian, not from America, etc. I love Eisley's music, and it gives me a feeling of hope, and wonder, and not in a religious way at all. It's amusing at times to go to shows (not just Eisley) and be able to count how many minorities their are on my fingers, to step outside of social norms and love Eisley. So I'm wondering who else knows what I'm talking about and feels the same? Everyone, not just a particular people should love Eisley, so let's share that Eisley love. _________________ Kyle ~ like a boy.. only I'm a girl (g i r l) www.myspace.com/smiliekylie (p r o o f) |

Well, I'm half hispanic, so I suppose that qualifies me. (Ignore the other halfish of Scots-Irish!) I've paid attention now and then to the racial and cultural makeup of Eisley's crowd. I've actually found a pretty strong Hispanic population of fans. I'm not sure I'd call people from other countries much of a minority (ony inside of the States). I've seen Eisley fans of all race, religion and creed. So it's pretty cool, especially since I was worried at first that (especially this forum) this was some kind of unintentional whites-only thing. (In bold just to make sure people know I'd never accuse them of something like that.) It does appear that Eisley has a fairly universal appeal. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Where I live, white people are the minority. But I think I see what you're saying. Not to sound racist or anything, but it seems most Hispanics and African-Americans like rap music (at least the ones where I live do). So it's really cool that there are some who listen to Eisley. Hopefully when Eisley gets bigger (and I know they will), there will be more minority listeners _________________ I know how I was born and I know that I have no choice. Mims wrote: What about people who don't believe in a God? I would say we are very much a minority with Eisley listeners. It's a little weird to hear all the stories about how the music makes them feel closer to God. i feel ya. i guess that makes me a double minority. jew and non-god believer. |
