excellent question. although i normally hate classifications (they're so limiting), i've been asked so much recently "what kind of music is it?" and i can't say much except "umm.. really good music". i wish i could say something that sounded more intelligent. and to think i used to write music reviews back in school. _________________ hello. |

yeah I agree with ali, I hate labeling music in a certain category. but if I was forced to I would probably say that radiohead and eisley were in a more experimental rock genre. I would probably say coldplay was brit-pop...which it isn't really....but thats the best I can think of. really most bands don't stay in a specific genre anyways when most people ask me what type of music eisley is I usually just tell them its unlike anything they've heard before...and that gets their interests up _________________ If you wanna go on a picnic, I'll bring the watermelon. |

I usually just call them indie rock, and that works fine for most people. *shrug* _________________ Coprophiliacs make sh*tty lovers. Flickr Transvaal IV - Myspace : Virb Deep Thoughts About Shallow Subjects |

musical genre's in the modern sense are just an excuse for people not to like music. usually used by people who say 'their music all sounds the same' i mean indie rock soft rock alternative rock hard rock punk rock etc lets face it they arent that different. Eisley is beyong classification just listen to it and enjoy. its easier to compare bands with other bands than to say what 'genre' they're in. _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |

well seeing as I don't usually wanna go give people a big spiel about classifying music every time some poor shmoe *or shmuck* asks what genre of music Eisley *or any other band for that matter* plays, I just usually say indie rock as well. It's a pretty general classification and it tends to be very raw *and might I add, heavenly* and Eisley falls nicely in both those descriptions.
