Sorry for being redundant (in the case that someone has already asked this), but when is the title of the new album going to be released? I know the album isn't expected until April or so, but what about the title? I'm getting antsy...

late may.

no title....well there is one, but we don't know it.

"ALBUM - I think the band finally has a name, but that could change and don't even TRY to guess or ask what it is. I'll torpedo you. Creative to begin soon. Mixes still not finished, but things are on track (no pun). If you try to use depth charges, I'll fake you out by spilling oil and cloaking my death. "

I think the title Room Noises was announced a month or two before the album was released. Bands don't generally schedule that kind of revelation in advance. It's more of a when they come up with it, and when they feel like it kind of thing.

Do they have Grammys for Best Album Name? Because that would totally win.

I wouldn't know, because Eisley came up with it.

Actually, Boyd mentioned it in one of his and Andrew's fireside chats!

And you know Andrew; the cheeky little saucemaster can't keep his acorns from spilling off the tongue!

Well I can assure you that a day spent not making Boyd spit is a day wasted.

Texans and spitting..the two just work together!

Watch.

(spit.)

As you can clearly see, the process needs some coercing, not unlike nudging a horseshoe crab into its first flight.

Why, you may ask, would spit need coersion if it goes so wonderfully with Texans?

Well, mild pod-chiles, this is because spit has had some rough times lately...it isn't uncommon for things to be fine and dandy when--up and coming whorls a dust bowl, and the spit hops into the bowl and can never get out again! No moist climate promises for spit.
Thus, spit has gone through some extensive therapy before it has even reached this point of self-confidence through which it can even communicate with Texans like olden times once more.

It's a slow process, but it's moving forward. And I believe the subliminal messaging of Porpoise Moles is the final frontier in spit's brainy ventures landward.

well, i see your points.
yeah, to me... record names are just little rememorizors.

Like - is "Abbey Road" really a great name for the Beatles last record? or is it just a phonetic sound we're now familiar with? It's just a studio name. How many bands have recorded there? What if Eisley had named "Marvelous Things" - "Hard Drive Studios". Jimmy Eat World recorded "Bleed American" there.

Dark Side of the Moon is a decent name. But the album art is pretty boring.
It's the music that's amazing.

Did you know that the two top Rock records (Rolling Stone "500 Greatest Albums of All Time") - "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "Pet Sounds" have songs that are also the album name?

"Ok Computer" is pretty great. But could the name have been: "Ok Processor" ? We wouldn't have cared. It's purely random.

"Parachutes"? I still don't get it or the glowing globe thing. I mean... it is what it is... and it's special to them.

"Transatlantisism" could have been "Something about Oceans". Smile

Or how about , "Oh Regressive World" by the Shins?
"Wining the Night Away"... nice Shins sounding name... the cover looks like a combination between a Dr Seus illustration and something Sherri might draw. I like it. Is it timeless? It will be along for the timeless ride if the record lasts decades.

And then there's "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me". What if they'd named it: "My God, the Devil".... or "Sic Celestial Wars"?.

So... whatever that all means. This is top of mind stuff. non-stop waves.
cya.

I think they should change their name to E-Unit, and make it an eponymous album.

Or ... E-ponymous.

Rolling Eyes

You really think so? I think the album cover is classic. Simple, but classic. Light refraction is cool. I remember the cover always made me think that there might be some validity to the Wizard of Oz rumors; the movie transitions from black and white to color half way through the album ( just as you hear the first cash register sounds at the start of side two). Similarly, a beam of white light streaks across the left half of the album cover, and in the center, it is refracted into color.

Even if those rumors are false, I always enjoyed the mythology that there was something to them. And l thought the album cover complemented it perfectly.

Sorry to digress from the main subject of this thread. The new Eisley album should be called "The Splendiferous Fantabulous Flying Machine of Professor Persnickity". That, or "Eisley II".
