I drink bottled water when the tap is bad. But I love the local tap water (possibly the only thing about this city that I love, other than my family being here), so I just stick to that. So, Longview tap water rocks. ha.

The tap water tasted just fine in Colorado, but it tastes like dirt and metal in Houston. So, I prefer the bottle.

haha i dunno. I drink a lot of juice... which isn't very healthy, since there's a lot of sugar in it...but yeah, i just don't like water that much. Also, sometimes when i drink water, my throat feels weird...like it's closing up or something... Confused

Believe me magnetic headbot, you do drink water. It's probably just gunked up with sugar and artificial flavoring. You should drink more actual water. It affects your health in ways you'd probably never realize.

I buy distilled water by the gallon and fill up my Nalgene bottle every day; it's the only stuff that doesn't taste really weird in some way. I grew up drinking water my parents distilled themselves in an awesome steam distiller they still have, and they used to store it in giant wine jugs. Laughing If I have to I can stand Dasani and Deja Blue. Aquafina tastes greasy and everything else just tastes like tap. I hate fridge water and Brita filtered crap. Glech.

maybe i should try distilled water then. i think my tap water here tastes the best, but it is still not good. it may be because i live in an agricultural area and there is fertilizer in it or something Shocked

I think distilled water dehydrates you ... Or something not good?

Ummm... no? The distilling process takes out impurities and excess additives in regular water, and all that's left is pure condensed steam. It's just water. There's no reason for it to dehydrate you.

Dasani, on the other hand, apparently has loads of sodium. Rolling Eyes

From Wikipedia:

Pros and cons

The drinking of distilled water has been both advocated and discouraged for health reasons. The lack of naturally-occurring minerals in distilled water has raised some concerns.

The Journal of General Internal Medicine published a study on the mineral contents of different waters available in the US. The study concluded, "drinking water sources available to North Americans may contain high levels of Calcium, Magnesium, and Sodium and may provide clinically important portions of the recommended dietary intake of these minerals. Physicians should encourage patients to check the mineral content of their drinking water, whether tap or bottled, and choose water most appropriate for their needs." Since distilled water doesn't contain minerals, supplemental mineral intake through diet is needed to maintain proper health.

It is often observed that consumption of "hard" water, or water that has some minerals, may have beneficial cardiovascular effects. As noted in the American Journal of Epidemiology, consumption of hard drinking water is negatively correlated with atherosclerotic heart disease. Since distilled water is devoid of minerals, it will not have these potential benefits.

It has been suggested that -- because distilled water lacks fluoride ions that are added by many governments (e.g. municipalities in the United States) at water treatment plants using fluoridation for its supposed effect on the inhibition of cavity formation -- the drinking of distilled water may conceivably increase the risk of tooth decay due to a lack of this element.

A purported effect of drinking water in its pure form is a 'more powerful solvent' that helps cleanse toxins from the body.

The cost of distilling water (about 0.04 to 0.10 Euro or USD per litre in 2005) prohibits its use by most households worldwide.

it seems that a lot of bottled water is purified by reverse osmosis.

I don't really like the idea of bottled water. Putting a brand name (and brand name price) on such a basic material needed for human life?

Pure water is pure water.
