 Post subject: Recordings Vs. Live ShowPosted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 3:22 pm 
We've probably discussed this a 39043908534 times but I was listening to some of the cheap-o recordings from the Final Noise Tour a lot lately and I'm just thinking about how much better the live show is in comparison to the recordings. its just the combination of great musicians/performers + the total experience of a live show. and everytime i hear those recordings i go to like a flash back and its like im at Bowery all over again and ahhh. its just getting me all anxious for the the album and the tour that comes with it. so i had to share because im excitteeedd. i dont go to a lot of concerts anymore and the ones i do go to are usually disappointing but i know eisley will not. anyway, long story short. im excited because i need a good concert. the end. _________________

Indeed, no recording of any kind that has been released (yet) has properly captured the experience of live Eisley. They're great. Did we ever discuss if we were at the same Bowery show? ha. no, we havent discussed it but i think we probably were. ive seen eisley everytime they were in NY since the NFG tour, i think? yea. except the free show in august 2005. which was on my 18th birthday which i believe was an 18+ show. grrr!! but alas, i was on vacation. _________________

Sweet. I almost went to that NFG show, but not quite. My back was in pain during the show, so I was mostly upstairs trying to find a place to sit during Lovedrug, and leaned against a wall for Pilotdrift. But I was pretty close for Eisley, on Sherri's side, with my friends from PA. I shot pictures there, too. This was a fun moment:

Hey, I thought we're not talking about the past, The Antrider, especially with a new album coming out...certainly a show in 2005 is the past, is it not? Or is it OK to talk about certain things only when you deem it OK...? Now it becomes clear why I hadn't posted in 2 years... But as long as we're on the subject, I was at that show and I think I remember you...weren't you the guy that was trying to push those odd comics you made on the band members...? Yes, we all had a good laugh after the show. P.S. I'm really not a mean person...I just don't like it when people attempt to control a forum. |

I didn't attempt to control anything. I just said I'm bored with everyone talking about how Room Noises could have been better when that was two years ago and there's a new album so close. If you would like to read threats of abuse of power into that, feel free to. But all I mainly do on the forum aside from being a normal member is delete spam, move things to their proper places, try to help people out and sometimes remind people to follow the rules. And a couple of times I've deleted offensive material, or posts with issues the band does not wish to have discussed on their own forum (mostly personal matters). Also, if that comic comment was not a jab, that would be another person. Though I do draw stupid comics sometimes. Anyway, feel free to PM me if you want to continue this. Sorry you feel that way. I was just discussing a past show (and a very good memory) with someone I found out was there, while having a conversation about future Eisley shows. I think this has run its course... But I still think that whatever did or did not happen with Room Noises is still valid, perhaps even more so now since they have a new album on the horizon. Once we all listen to it we'll all have opinions concerning which tracks the label should "push" and which are the strongest songs and/or showcase Eisley's unique talents the most. Since I'm also sure that the vast majority of us really want Eisley to achieve far greater (commercial) recognition than they currently have, the choices that their label makes will obviously be crucial. The only experience that we have to go by is the past choices that were made by the label in the wake of Room Noises. So it will be inevitable, especially once the album comes out, to compare the label's subsequent decisions regarding (and even the songs on) Cominations, to Room Noises. |

It was probably my least favorite venue of the three. However, it was in Cleveland that we had the best hotel room I've ever had. We got a super deal at the Crowne Plaza overlooking Lake Erie. I remember... upon driving back to our hotel that night, I had to put gas in a scary area. That was fun. Anyway, here's the best picture of Eisley I got that night:

That band is called The Vanished, and the song is "Soap." That's from the Tiny Texas Tour, at the end of 2003. She didn't sing at the show I went to.
