attention moderators/webmasters: the proper link for the chatroom is: aim:gochat?roomname=Laughing+City&Exchange=4 [Mod: gracias, link fixed on chat page] you can paste that link in your browser's address line, or hopefully someone will fix the chat link so that it works for us trillian users. this link will work for trillian users (and others, i believe). the problem with the link currently provided is that it didn't have the Exchange specified, plus the default Exchange for trillian is 5 (i believe - that's the public one). if you enter chat with Exchange=5, you'll see an empty chat, even if people are there. ok, hope this helps 
note: glassuser reported a problem with this, because his default aim provider is not set as trillian, therefore his system did not know to open trillian when he used that link. i think this may be a localized problem (hopefully). _________________ hello. |

Hmm... The regular link isn't working for me, and neither is this new one. It just comes up with a message saying: "Sorry, AIM could not join room 'Laughing City.' Please try again later." |

FYI: These chat links are really just for convenience.. they are not required to join an AIM chatroom. In AIM, click People > Send Chat Invitation, then send an invitation to your own username with the chat room name set to "Laughing City" (no quotation marks; there is a space inbetween there, too). You will then auto-join the room. In Trillian, click on the AIM icon and then Join Chat, and likewise, type in the chatroom name as just described. [Trillian is more intuitive about this since it actually has a "join chat" and you dont have to "invite" yourself... anyway] We should be getting something on IRC soon, then this should all be relatively hassle free if people have a java-capable browser (or don't mind downloading something like Trillian or mIRC) _________________ "The revolution starts today, not tomorrow." :: got g-Love? |

the problem with doing the "join chat" feature in trillian is that it, by default, uses exchange 5. the real Laughing City chat is on 4. hence, my solution above. _________________ hello. |
