I started a band with my friend Eli. We don't know what to call ourselves...

You know...

Since our parents never gave us our band names.
Hippie bastards.

so anyways, feel free to choose our band name from the compiled list above, or make one up and give it to me for free.

I think it should be La Fours. But I doubt anyone will get the reference. Confused

You bastards really like voting for Starsky and Butch!

Ugh, the vote is still split. As is my heart. And I would've done Les Tours but I think La Tours sounds better.

Here are the problems Eli and I find with each band name -

Harold In Mauve - We've introduced ourselves as Harold In Mauve to people. Even when you're not in a loud, crowded area, it's highly possible that they're just going to assume you said "Harold And Maude". Some people did do that. So then, where are we left? We're left with no friend requests on myspace and no attendance at our shows because everyone was scanning the web looking for "Harold and Maude". Stupid fans.

Theo and Eliza - I LOVE this name. We were also thinking about Theodore and Elijah. I LOVE this name too. She's being squeamish about it and I have no idea why. It's really freaking bothering me because the names fit really well together. If we did this, she'd rather we use Teddy and Eli, but she wouldn't want to do that because it doesn't roll off the tongue anyways.

Starsky and Butch - We probably WILL just end up using this. You can hear we're saying 'Butch' rather than 'Hutch', which solves the Harold In Mauve problem. Plus, she and I are totes def gayz0rz for each other. So that displays the timeless love story of Starsky and Hutch in chick form.
In addition, I used to seriously look for '70s Ford Gran Turinos with the Starsky and Hutch paint job. There was no doubt in my mind I would one day own that car. Nostalgic valu333!

La Tours - We both like this name, BUT...it's almost like a variation of this other band name we were considering, The Tourists. Except this means The Towers..but anyway, they sound the damn same.
The reason we ended up getting rid of The Tourists was because, while it fits us VERY well in a non-touristy way, it's a boring-ass band name. I think people are going to forget it like that.
"Hey, I saw this really awesome band tonight! Ugh, they were so awesome! I can tell they're going to become my favourite band."
"Sweet deal! What's their name?"
"How the f*ck should I know? It was some idiot band name that only idiots would use 'cause they're idiots or some slit. Leave me alone, you bastard."

You can understand our dilemma.

Yeah, I was kidding. There's no way in hell I'm taking on the character of Butch in Starsky and Butch. Or Starsky, for that matter...although he DID have some great sweaters..
