Girls: do you ever feel like we aren't the only ones with ups and downs in our moods each month? It is my belief that guys have cycles too. Now don't get gross, I don't mean physically (duh), or even to the emotional extent that we girls can sometimes have it.
But guys get weird. The way they act, talk, and treat people seems to get pretty depressing every so often.
I'm calling it a man period. Have you ever noticed such an occurrence in your guy friends?

Guys do have cycles, we just can't use it as an excuse.

Ha. True. That excuse comes in handy sometimes ... although it is merited. You may have mood cycles, but you don't have the other stuff on top of that. Rolling Eyes

It's probably because of the odds that at least 1 thing a month will piss us off or bring us down. I don't believe it's any more than that.

Girls have menstruation to blame for being bitchy...I guess guys can only blame their biorhythm....

Golly, Poster

kind of related:
you know i actually read something really interesting once how girls subconsciously look at other guys besides their boyfriend or husband when they ovulate because of the cavewoman effect (aka looking for a bigger better babgy gene pool) and guys can subconciously feel those effects and become more jealous and moody.

so maybe your man is moody because he thinks youre trying to find a better he-man cave-hunk

I think with guys, it's most likely that something can happen that affects his mood and behavior for a long enough period of time that it could be seen as a period. But, it's not. I think a lot of women use PMS symptoms as way too much of a free ride to get their superduperasshole on, anyways. I never experience any emotional symptoms...that certainly changes from person to person, but I've been on the receiving end of enough unwarranted bitchy behavior that I don't think there is a real excuse for it.

men don't have cycles like women. we're pretty straightforward. granted there are times i don't feel like doing certain things and other times i feel like doing everything but that doesn't happen once a month. its more like once a week, and its also not to the extent as PMS (Psycho Man-eating Symptom).

They tried to do that on South Park. The results were fatal. Shocked

Hey, guess what? Hormones do affect your mood. So when it's that time of the month, there is a very real physical cause behind the emotional ups and downs girls experience. It's not an excuse; it's the truth. Plus, if you had to deal with cramps for five days at a time, you'd be bitchy too.

Man periods (meriods?) are, from what I can tell, produced mostly by environmental factors. When Aaron gets hungry or tired he gets angry too. Kind of like taking a kid to the zoo. Very Happy
