I've been having a bit of an argument with somebody about Brightly Wound. He thinks it's pronounced Brightly WOOnd, as in you've been wounded in the war. I'm fairly certain that it's Brightly WOWnd, as in winding up a clock.

Any other thoughts?

Yeah, it's wowned (according to the band I believe.)

But, the nice thing about music is that it's open to any interpretation by anyone.

Brightly is an adverb, therefore Wound must be a verb. Wow-nd is a verb, woo-nd is a noun. Therefore it's wow-nd.

I don't get why people say you can tell! It could be an infinitive.

Wrong.

dictionary.com wrote:
–noun
1. an injury, usually involving division of tissue or rupture of the integument or mucous membrane, due to external violence or some mechanical agency rather than disease.
2. a similar injury to the tissue of a plant.
3. an injury or hurt to feelings, sensibilities, reputation, etc.
–verb (used with object)
4. to inflict a wound upon; injure; hurt.
–verb (used without object)
5. to inflict a wound.

The correct pronunciation of the title is wownd, but it's not for any grammatical reason.
