hello hero!
Sea Post King

in one of the interviews that Sherri did recently, it says that she said "half-assed". I can't imagine her cursing with her pretty voice. Tell me the DuPrees don't curse!

Nah, I really don't care. I curse all the time. But I just thought it was funny....

Especially the phrase "half-assed".

I've seen members of the band say things like this, and it's no big deal. They're not vulgar, so they still can maintain a wholesome image..not that it's an image, but I mean them saying ass or sh*t or whatever doesn't make them valueless. Although one of them did say something once, like really minor, and I saw a few negative comments by a few self-righteous idiots, but you can't win em' all.

Dictionary.com
half-assed /ˈhæfˈæst, ˈhɑf-/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[haf-ast, hahf-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective Slang: Vulgar.
1. insufficient or haphazard; not fully planned or developed.
2. incompetent; lacking sufficient ability or knowledge.

Anyway, I once heard Paula Deen say, "even the straightest preacher's wife will let a curse word slip every now and then." That may not be verbatim, but I remember chuckling when I heard her say that.

That is more a slang than a vulgarity, IMO. What is so vulgar about another term for buttocks (or donkey)?

yeah...for me it's more of an ingrained concept...and one that I'm proud to have taught my kids, and proud that my parents taught me.

"Don't do something half-A"
Honestly, I rarely ever think of it being vulgar or a cuss/curse word.

Paula Deen also confesses that she has a mouth like whoa ... Shocked

ha ha.

I consider it cussing, but very minor in the realm of vulgarities. Some people think "screw," "crap" and "suck" are bad, too. I use those a ton.

And "hell". Like when I was younger we'd get in trouble at school for saying those words. Rolling Eyes

I take offense to people using "hell". It saddens me, too. It makes sense that it would do so, given my faith. There's nothing like that with the words Jamie mentioned.

I don't understand how that word is bad. Maybe if you tell someone to "go to hell" but that's the only thing I can think of. 'Cause that's rude no matter what you believe.
