I'm bored right now. I have about three hours until my next class so right now I'm just sitting in the library with my laptop surfing the web. I was just looking through the forum and came up with this question:

What would Eisley sound like if Chauntelle, Garron, and Weston wrote the band's songs?

BTW: Doesn't Chauntelle have any solo work?

For me, it depends on if Garron and/or Weston sang. I think it might sound a lot more like they do now than people might think.

But I guess that's not as fun to speculate about. Laughing

Boyd has said that Chauntelle has revived her songwriting in recent years, though I don't think she's written much. I wouldn't be surprised to see more songwriting contributions in the future.

Of course, this sounds like they don't make their own stellar parts already ...

that's true. technically, they DO write their own parts. (weston's sweet beatzzz always amaze me. but that's probably because my brain could never wrap around how someone plays the drums.)

Chauntelle's "solo" work has come in the form of collaborations with other artists. "One More Day With You" is a great example.

Yeah, I love his drum work. Especially how he tries to challenge himself and do something different.

I tried playing Memories with my pencils and I can't seem to keep the hi hat going while he does the other stuff, do you know what I mean? Ya I know, I'm weird.

Weston actually has a third arm he hides under his shirt most of the time. He's so skinny no one really notices.

Funny that you say that. For me it's the relative simplicity of the beats that makes me like them! More so on Room Noises, admittadly, but there we are.

Oh, it can be simple, but not exactly normal, either. Challenging in that it's not quite like everything else out there.

That's not his arm.

I wonder if Sherri and Stacy will make a grab for more money if they start to get really popular.

I hope this comment doesn't break up the band/family.

I don't think the money thing will ever happen. That's the difference between Eisley and almost any other band... they're family.

The tambourine just plays a 3:2 pattern with the big beat.

in six eight time,

one TWO three FOUR five SIX one TWO three FOUR five SIX

The four in the tambourine would line up with the snare drum hit.

Just practice keeping time with your right hand, (123456) and add in the tambourine bit by bit. Other than that, it's simply a compound time rock groove.
