Let me think... Bb Cm Dm Eb F Gm Adim I guess it's just that pretty much all of those are barre chords (save Dm). I generally like to play open chords if possible (for stylistic reasons.) I play all those chords barred, but transitions aren't nearly as smooth either. Then again, I never really "practice" the guitar so I don't have much to complain about. EDIT: I should state, I like barre chords with a E fingering (I don't know the proper terminology), but the ones with A fingering are nasty for my large fingers. _________________ EisleyForever wrote: you're A-list in my heart! You can play Dm, F, Gm, and Adim open. The E-style barre chord is the easier one, but I've never really had a problem with the A-style. My brother and my dad think I'm a freak because I can bend my ring finger so that it doesn't touch the high E, so maybe I'm just the right kind of flexible. _________________ Scriptozoology, a screenwriting blog .. OMG IT DOES NOT GO TO V *SRSLY HAS AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS* its I ii IV ii IV. does this mean that it doesn't work according to the classic rules of theory? I really don't get the classic rules of theory much - i mean, parallel fifths and octaves are pretty much accepted these days. |

K THKNXBI It's not a very common progression in terms of early classical (IE- Bach), but everybody and their mother has been breaking his rules for a few hundred years. I enjoy it, it has a very continuous sound to the progression (which works well for the narrative style of the lyric.) It's not so much that they are rules you can't break, but rules you shouldn't break if you wish to write in that style. Sort of like the modern pop formula: Verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus You certainly don't have to follow that skeleton, but that's what most of pop songs are. _________________ EisleyForever wrote: you're A-list in my heart!
