This'll be my 6th show at cain's and I have one huge warning to those going to this venue for the first time. About a block down the road is a good lookin'/smellin' mexican place. Beware. Every time I've eaten there I end up midway through the main set with extreme stomach pains. Stay clear. Besides that cain's is a great place for a show (well besides those crazy portraits of dead country artists staring you down from the ceiling). Who else is headin to this show? |

can't answer your question but i can pose one: why has there not been any thread on last night's Oklahoma City show? p.s. i wouldn't mind a picture of the ceiling - that seems pretty neat. _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

*moved here from the wrong show topic* I did end up eating at the mexican place. I guess resturants aren't open in tulsa till about 6 and we got there around 4 and Mexicali was the only place open. I didn't have the chips and salsa and I was good...my friend who did have the chips and salsa and laughed at me for not eating them felt their rath later that night. Great show. I just got back. The audience was..uh...interesting? by the time eisley came on there were at the most 10 rows of people (and there is a pretty big floor to fill). I didn't get a chance to look back by the end of the set, but I'm sure it started to fill up as they started to play. I didn't get video of christie, but got a (not so good) picture as she was being carried away. I knew that she might be singing (thanks to kim), but didn't think it would be singing the first verse of I Wasn't Prepared. She sounded insane. It's always great hearing her sing.
mics were in the way of all of my views of the band and so I gave up trying to get any good photos. The set was a little different...they added one song mid-set through... after another (annoying) onslaught from the fans for Trolleywood, Sherri said that they'd play it if the people yelling would shut up (with some "interesting" looks from the rest of the band). It was a different version of it (seeing how Weston didn't have the tracks ready on his mac) and so they played it without the snaps or under tones. It was a good time. Another highlight was when they were getting ready for Combinations. Garron was bringing out the marxophone and Sherri said "Garron's going to be playing this thing called a marxophone. It makes him look badass....um...wow...I've never said ass on stage before...he's a badass." Chauntelle came out and sang with The Envy Corps and was great.
Another memorable time was when stacy started Memories. She got a couple lines in and then the music stopped. "Um...the piano went out." Garron went over to stacy's mac to see what was up and as soon as he touched it, the screen turned black. The band seemed to go into a split second panic, but laughed it off and a new keyboard was brought out.
Here's some more pics.
I just want to say that by far this is the bet set I've seen eisley pull off. The songs sounded tight and the new intros into ICBTFY and One Day were great. The band seemed so much more powerful than in previous tours. I can't wait to see this show again on monday. Quote: p.s. i wouldn't mind a picture of the ceiling - that seems pretty neat. I don't even look at them. They're intense. here's a photo I ripped off cain's myspace.

So pissed. well it seems like I'm the only one on here who went to that show....um....I haven't listened to them before the show except for a song here and there. I saw the lyrics (chauntelle had to look down at them from time to time) and so I might remember if I saw the lyrics, but no idea to tell you the truth. Did she sing at the St. Louis show? |
