I missed the sweet sound of the Rhodes on Combinations, and on the recent headlining tour! So...... I GOT MY VERY OWN!!! in the next few weeks I'll be doing a lot of work on it, including a complete retolexing. I'm ripping off all of the black vinyl and giving it the complete Stacy make-over! I'm gonna do it white, with a red sparkle top harp cover. I hope Stacy doesn't mind! Stay tuned for more pics! =] _________________ |

You better do a good job on that! I personally wouldn't redo mine because that's in such nice shape ... take it on the road and get it battered to heck. THEN redo it. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

THEN redo it. oh its pretty battered, you just can't tell in the pictures. the back is all torn up, a previous owner, for whatever reason, put what appears to be duct tape on it then ripped it off and it left a nasty gray residue, and the edges are all torn and the vinyl is actually starting to peel on its own. patrock wrote: I would suggest having a professional refurbish it for you. my mom is a proffesional, not at refurbishing Rhodes specifically, but refurbishing in general. I'd much prefer to do it myself though, it will make the piano more personal to me. besides I know what I'm doing. I've already taken it apart once and put it back together to clean it. the bottom of the case was littered with about 20 pounds of dust and dead spiders. the guy who I bought it from was not exactly living in the cleanest of conditions. I also fixed its one problem. a sticky key. _________________ |

Ahh, well, that makes me feel better. ha. Make sure to post pictures of the finished product! I wonder if that will be the first Rhodes refurbishing done in tribute to Stacy's ... _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

There were a few little things mechanically wrong with it but I have fixed them. 2 of the keys on the lower register were sticking, and a few of the hammers on the high register weren't lined up with the tine, so when I played those keys the hammers weren't striking anything, therefore making no sound. But like I said, I have fixed all of that and it sounds great. So now it'll just be a cosmetic makeover. _________________ |
