All I know about is Boyd's setup, who I think uses a fairly standard Nikon 55-200 mm. I think it's probably like one of these: http://www.adorama.com/NK55200DXU.html http://www.adorama.com/NK55200VRU.html But I never checked too closely. He does a great job shooting with that, too. Blur is a major issue when shooting telephoto in such low light, and concerts are all about low light. If you can get lighting, that's probably a great focal length to work with. But obviously it's possible. Though I'd personally prefer slightly more expensive -- yet very dependable -- concert lenses like the 50mm 1.4 and something like a 100mm 2.0. Those rarely do me wrong.
