i think it's a common opinion between all of the eisley fans that "Lost At Sea" is soo amazing.

I know boydinator (yes, I said boydinator) says that its a super rough demo...but I think that the bad quality to it with the hissing and the sound of the timing clock thing..metrinome is it called?? But...I think the sound of that is absolutely beautiful.

I hope they don't add other instruments to it on record form...it sounds SO good with just the piano and the voice. It adds this beauty to the simplicity of it.

I think it would be really cool as an "intro" for their new cd. Ya know? Have it be the first song...but I really love the analog feel to it. really warm and special. I don't know how i'd handle it all produced.

maybe i'm crazy...

thoughts???

Dont you worry mr frodo, you'll be able to handle it. Smile

I enjoy the simpleness of it also.. though, I think the finished version will be amazing as well. Maybe they could release this demo version like radiohead released the demo version of "where i end and you begin"... which sounds nothing like the version on httt but is grand in it's own way. <-- thoughts Smile

It's the song on a little video Boyd made recently... You have to download the video to hear it. There's a 9 megabyte version and a 19 megabyte version. It's a pretty sweet video, too.

I think that version of it would be sweet as an outro for the LP. "Congratulations cause we've made it all the way home." It makes the LP almost a metaphor for the band's journey to that point, and the grainy sound of this version make it seem like a home movie where you can see the band coming home (which you obviously can in the video). As long as we're talking about Radiohead, kind of like with Creep, you could always have the clean professional version and then the grainy one at the end. It'd be cooler than two versions of Creep with the one word being changed and that's it.

As much as I agree, hope you guys understand the forces behind this
record. Not saying it couldn't happen...but, if the song is deemed as
having great potential (not saying it has), the chances of it being offered
up as a minimal intro or outro is slim to none. I don't even know what the
band feels about that song or what their plan is for it. I'm with you,
though. Just remember, if it gets some degree of glorification that
disappoints you insiders, we'll always have this moment...this b-lo fi
version frozen in time.

I was listening to it in my car today, and I was imagining the possibilties of it being a more developed song ... I can live with anything that gets done to it. I just hope it makes it somewhere. Smile

oh, dont get me wrong. you already made it a song in existance by releasing to the "hardcore" eisley fans, and youre awesome for that.

and obviously, if you showed that to warner brothers, theyd give you a face.

its gonna be good no matter what

the song is scary in a good way. the lo-finess and the metronome and stuff make it very haunting. i love it.

This song evokes so much nostalgia for me it’s a predicament I seem to find myself in often whilst listening to Eisley, but it seems to be especially true for this song (Lost at Sea) because there isn’t much to have to concentrate on. Ok, thats my two cents...
