I think this is a great opportunity for them!

For Eisley, I think they have several songs that will fit well with an event like this...especially since they are doing it acoustic (which I hope still means the rhythm section, like in their tour). I'm willing to be ICBTFY will be included...other than that, LC, Combinations and If You're Wondering would be educated guesses, but I have a feeling there will be a Room Noises or two track in the mix, too.

I bet the set won't be too long, but it should still be great! I hope that audio/video prospect works out, I'd love to see this someday!

or the big epic finale for LP3... Wink

oh yeah, that would be good to put the whole thing up on iTunes. good idea..........no make it a DVD... Shocked

that could be a good money saver - if they've thought up some orchestral sounds for their new LP, they could record there and then not have to pay studio costs/orchestra rental, etc.

I think some itunes ep would be great (as long as the money goes to the cancer foundation and not completely to the band).

I'm very excited for this show. I think it'll be a great time to clean off some of those "un-moldy oldies" (Laughing City, Over the Mountains and if it was a month later The Winter Song). I also think that if there was any show to pull off Marsh King's Daughter it'd be that night if the band is up for playing it.

I wonder if Richard Gibbs made up orchestral scores for MKD?

During that song it'd only be Sherri singing solo as I'm not sure the rest of the band plays on the studio recording at all. Admittedly, I haven't listened to it a while and even thought about thinking about that while listening in the past to say for sure.

If anything she could just sing it with the orchestra backing her.

Yeah, I think Sherri's the only one singing, even the harmony back up parts, but Stacy could easily do the back up singing for her, since Sherri can't sing two different things at once (.. or can she??).

I think Weston might do some drum stuff too.. but yeah.

I thought Stacy did that? She wrote something...

Actually, I think she did the Combinations part. Nevermind. Hah:

Anyway, it sort of looks like it says the composer is Richard Gibbs on the sheet music: http://www.eisley.com/tourpics/MakingOf2/Malibu5/MarshSessions.jpg

This is really exciting. Hope they release the recording- I'd definitely pay for it. Eisley is one of the few band that could do this and have it fit.

this is begging for Over the Mountains with bombastic symphonic backing.

i meant did he print up sheet music for it, but you answered that question with the photograph.

yeah, Over the Mountains - the whole orchestra playing those repeated 4 notes of fuzz tones would be sweet. then have a xylophone play that Rhodes part that comes in - Rhodes are very bell-like anyway, especially on the higher end of the keyboard.

those recordings of Buddy Holly singing with orchestra backing are very nice - True Love Ways, Raining in My Heart. i believe with at least one of those he tracked his vocals live (in studio) along with the orchestra.
