Hey all! I got a new tattoo today.

My friend Haley and I sketched our own, simplified twist to one of Sherri's mermaids in her (incredible) mermaid drawing, and I got it tattood on the top of my foot with the lyrics "Without love you won't get far" from "Sea King."

For those of you interested in tattoos or who have some tattoos but none on the top of the foot--it has to be the worst feeling imaginable, almost. I have wrist tattoos, which were horrible, but the top of the foot was excruciating. It was definitely worth it, though. It wasn't so painful not to go through it, but you have to be tough.

Also, my best friend Glory and I have a simple acoustic guitar + vocals band-thing. We've been writing and goofing around for like two years, but it's nothing serious. We call ourselves Tricks for Trade, in homage to "Many Funerals."

We got matching tattoos saying Tricks for Trade, too.

Smile

I'm not very content with the coloring on the mermaid. I think in a while I'm going to have a better artist re-do the coloring. I love Stan, the guy who does my tattoos, but he's better at outlines and he only truly shows his good coloring skills occasionally. He's so friendly and inexpensive, so I still love him. But I wasn't happy with her coloring.

The word "you" is a bit blurrier than the rest. Also the word "far" looks like "for." That can be corrected easily in my touch-up though.

Overall, I still love it to death.

The second one is cool. Is your friend nekkid? Shocked Wink I wouldn't really want a topless mermaid on my foot with a bright pink nipple, though. Or a tattoo on my chest. That's something to be regretted when you're getting married or something. Laughing

The second one looks pretty cool. I'm not a tattoo kind of guy though. Don't like them.

The drawing we had made out didn't have a nipple. He just kind of did it. I wasn't infuriated with him or anything, but I did NOT want her to have a nipple. It takes away from whatever "classy-ness" may have existed.

And the colors are so gaudy.

And I'm not worried about regretting things when I get married. I'm gay.

And Glory, the girl, is a basketcase so this shouldn't put a damper on her life anymore than any other crazy whim she goes on.

Ever since I was a child I was fascinated with mermaids, so I'll never regret it. I've always wanted it. I just didn't quite know where or what to go with it.

I have "Fair is Foul" and "Foul is Fair" on my wrists, too. From MacBeth.

You could still get married...

Anyway, nice tattoos. Would never get one myself because I know I would get sick of it in about five minutes, but I like yours.

No, no. I wasn't talking about a man. I meant if someone were trying on wedding dresses and had a tattoo on their boob they might be like "well, shoot".

I know a girl in my old art class who was very proud of that fact. She told me so. And her nipple rings too.

It was a really awkward class period.

Don't the colors fade a bit after awhile though, or no?
