So today is a nice day to speak up on all that has been going on and all that Boyd has been telling you all about.

First off, let me just say how deeply moved I was to find so many of you Eisley fans, praying and thinking of me. It truly was felt, and I am humbled. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

There are so many things about what just happened to me/us that are overwhelming, and will continue to be due to circumstances - (such as no insurance), but I am taking one finger prick at a time, doing my best not to stress - just getting through each day. Smile
For those of you that contributed financially to us, I can't....I don't even have words that can express the level of gratitude. "Thank you" sounds so cheap.

This has truly been one of the darkest, fear-filled hours of my life but I am learning to deal with the deck that has been dealt to me.
Why someone "upstairs" has decided to allow me to escape death or stroke twice now eludes me - but I am here still. Wink

Recovery is taking longer this time than it did the first time and I assume it's due to the diabetes this time around. My BP is actually so low now after the new stint that my body is not use to it at all so I tend to black out or nearly black out each time I get up. I am learning to get up slower so that does not happen. My body is use to such high BP that it doesn't know what to do with readings like 117/67! Laughing

For those of you that were wondering about the type of Diabetes, it is type 2. I have only had to give myself the insulin shots a few times because I follow a strict low carb diet. It helps to keep my numbers in the medicine manageable stage for now. My goal is (eventually -if it works out) - to be off the meds. I don't have a problem with the way I have to eat so hopefully this will be attainable.

The best part about all of this is....I have received tons of wonderful attention from my incredible husband and have enjoyed every minute of him caring for me. Smile (not like this is unusual, but just extra) We always hear that "life is so short" and we all know that sometimes it takes tragedy or near tragedy to fully comprehend - to cherish the moments we are given in life but I am truly thankful that -for now - I will live to see another day, to hear the music, listen to my kids laughing at their brother Weston's jokes or just get to go to the grocery store with any one of my kids, to look over and see Boyd grinding at the computer at 3:00 a.m., to hear friends drinking coffee in my front room.....you get the picture. Smile

One day, one hour, one moment at a time, holding each close to my heart.

Again, "thank you" all for your thoughts, prayers and financial blessings on my little life.

Much love,
~kim~

P.S. I can't forget to mention that Chaunty has been making nearly all my meals. All of my kids have been so supportive and rallying for me. Smile

Thanks us for reminding us that "Prayer Changes Condition." as my Great Grandma says. I sometimes forget it, I'll do better from now on, cause like most, I feel personally relieved you got that chance to take it a day at a time. Same goes for Zane!

Good to hear you are better.

Both of my parents are diabetics. My mother actually has to do the shots daily I believe.

They basically refuse to alter their diet. Confused

btw - Is it just me or does the Brewtones link no longer work?
