I was skimming through my Blender issue from like Septenber or something, cuz I'm moving, and I was throwing out stuff, but I didn't wanna trough the reason why I bought it...the Radiohead interview. So I took the pages of and kept them, and then just like skimming through it before trashing it, I find a little page that talks about Eisley! And when I got it, I hadn't realized cuiz I'd never heard of them by that time. But musn't it felt SO good for them to be in the same issue where Thoms picture's on the cover? I think that's such a great coincidence... Smile

Hey! That's what finally got me to this place. Very Happy For all its faults, Blender finally got me interested enough to hunt for Eisley online. (Though it took me most of the night to figure out that Eisley was Moss Eisley, that I had heard about months before. Heh.)
So yeah, that was cool.

That's awesome, but I have been rediscovering KENT today, as I drove back from dropping EISLEY at DFW airport.
They're no RADIOHEAD, but if you haven't discovered them, you should.

I've never really understood the mass appeal to Radiohead. I really like their "Creep" song, but other than that, I cannot get into the slowcore aspect of their music.

Can anyone here recommend five of their songs you think I would like, please?

That Creep song is great. I sang that in one of my acting classes a few semesters ago. (one of our assignments was to pick any song and sing it in front of the class on stage, so I chose that one) But truth be told, that's probably the only one of their songs I know.
I got an A too, haha.

I wouldn't say that too loud guys, I'm pretty sure Thom would strangle you for saying you like "that Creep song." But, I guess if you don't listen to Radiohead and want 5 songs to give you a good taste of them, I'd say "Street Spirit," "Idioteque," "2+2=5," "Paranoid Android" and maybe "Pyramid Song." Trying to reduce Radiohead to five songs would be like trying the same with The Beatles. Too many albums, too many different sounds to try and sum them up in any real way. Not getting into Radiohead cause they're "popular," despite little to no radio/tv play, is really a travesty. They're one of the few bands that actually live up to hype around them. Radiohead, and Eisley, of course .... Smile

radiohead is one of my fave bands and the first few songs i heard by them were...

karma police
paranoid android
optimistic
fake plastic trees
how to disappear completely

i say add 'just' and '2+2=5' and 'no surprises' to that list.

Those are some awesome songs. But I'd still say it's incomplete. I'd add "Climbing up the walls", "Lucky", "Exit Music(for a film)" and "True love waits" the acoustic version. Oh, and I couldn't agree more with Sergio. Even when then don't have the same media atention as, let's say, Maddona, they are still a popular band. But that doesn't change the fact that they are a kick-ass band. Wink Sometimes too much media coverage can ruin a band cuz ppl get tired of their music. But some ppl exagerate about this principle thinking than then, that makes bands who nobody knows about, the best ones. But that isn't true with Radiohead. I discovered Radiohead not long ago, and they quickly ascended to my favorite bands of all times. I dunno what it is, but I'm pretty sure I has something to do with feeling each and everyone of their songs like a part of my life. Like every song they write, it's about something that happened to me. And when they sing, they are singing for me, and it reminds me of what happened, and it makes me cry...and Thoms voice... Shocked it's SO amazing...

Hey if you love Thom's voice then you need to hear Lee Bozeman. I love radiohead like nobodys business, but I thing Lee sounds even better then Thom. You need to check out his old Luxury stuff, or his new solo project All Things Bright and Beautiful. You can dl a few mp3s at www.leebozeman.com
You should particularly listen to "attractive & unattractive" This man needs massive publicity and studio time.
