Here's a link to Ambulance from the Baton Rouge show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F95ejszWNJg Other than the sound issues, it was a great show. I theorize that some of the feedback issues may heave been that they placed Sherri right under the main house speakers. Here's my Facebook photos from the show: http://tinyurl.com/yj7b69w I think this is an accurate set list in order: Invasion Marvelous Things Many Funerals I Could Be There For You Mr. Pine I Wasn't Prepared The Valley Combinations Just Like We Do (dedicated to Darren & played on electric) Smarter (with Max) Go Away Golly Sandra Tree Tops Ambulance Come Clean Be Kind If You're Wondering Trolleywood |

I just don't get it. and why did that guy from chiodos open for eisley in san antonio on the combinations tour? the world will never know... one of his fans apparently thought the eisley fans up front would catch him if he ran onstage and jumped off into the crowd. nope. _________________ |

A little editing and Boom!, the first slogan for a Eisley Fanclub only T shirt. All we need is a still of the guy on stage for the front with the question. and just the "nope." on the back. _________________ yup, that's my name. I'm dying with my electric show drought ... I think it was 2008 when I last saw them play properly. But it's good to see them playing and I'm glad to hear good reports from it. I was going to say something else but ... gahhh! Must see Eisley play electric instruments again! P.S. I also had avoided this whole drama thing almost entirely until I read above comments, but I'd much rather be "shapeless" than "cookie cutter." _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

Not anything having to do with the origination of "Tree Tops" which is older than my nephew, or with what was going on when they first started as a band. I could have sworn I heard her say "along time ago" but then again I could be wrong. I was kinda far back and couldnt catch everything she said so this could be right. I took it as someone called them woodland fairy brats so they wrote tree tops. _________________ twitter.com/justcameron follow me |

It's really the same arrangement as previously, just with Stacy playing the guitar part on an electric guitar instead of an acoustic. Sherri still sings the backing vox and I don't think Stacy changed what she actually plays at all. Just in case y'all are thinking it's a new arrangement... it's not. |

Many thanks for the show reports and *especially* the youtube links... For those who might have been tempted to skip it, princesstripandfall's link is to a youtube channel with much of the show on it. Oustanding. It sounds like they sounded really, really good that night. Thats a better Ambulance than I've heard before, either live or on Firekite... I think its the guitar sound. Is it just me or is Chauntelle sounding more like she used to (maybe shaken the major label curse)? Whatever, I like it. You guys keep b*tching about the sound, but that Ambulance sounds fantastic... Especially Chauntelle... (and kudos for the cameraman for a great recording) Maybe its that the guitar and bass are mixed high enough to drown out most of the annoying tracked strings for most of the song.... In fact, I have a hard time picking out whether they are still even there or if I'm just hearing Chauntelle coming in... at any rate, much improved.... OK- I think they still come in later... well, less is better anyway. And good to see the Rhodes front and center, duct tape and all. Sounds (and looks) more like Eisley to me than that characterless casio keyboard of hers (or whatever that thing is). And I also especially like the JLWD- never seen it done electric... D* those are nice guitars. Eisley has some things figured out.... It you have a guitar band- someone's gotta marry a Luthier. I think that Marvelous things sounds better than it has for years too... Maybe part of it is the guitar... I think the bass is maybe mixed up higher than it has been in a few years as well though- it sounds good! (or maybe its just a question of where the camera is relative to Garrons cabinet - hard to tell). My beef with the way they'd been arranging things for while was that the rhythm guitar was trying to carry too much of what the bass had been doing before... it sounded a bit thin. Does look a bit like Garron's starting to punch it up a bit more.. which is really positive - the more he does, the better they sound. Very much look forward to them playing Dallas again when they next do. |
