1. Make a Twitter account
2. Follow @Eisley

Done.

@Eisley only has 9415 followers. That's sad. Support Eisley and follow them today! Let's try to get to 10,000 by the end of today!

Nice! Good job putting this out there. Sorry Twitter and FB haters, but they are definitely the best/quickest ways for the bands to get info out to us!

There's no reason to hate twitter. It's one of the best networks of information in human history. People that "hate" it don't even know what they're hating.

@Eisley was one of the first accounts I followed, so I did my job a couple years ago Smile

When I created a twitter account sometime last year I made sure to follow them. Haven't logged on it since but I just checked and I'm following Eisley, SDupreeBemis, and riseagainst. :]

9,451 Followers... umm don't think we are going to get 10,000. Ha! Maybe in a few days.

Blame Beiber and Charlie Sheen. All their faults.

I know exactly what I'm hating, thank you very much. 99.9% of Twitter is people posting stupid things their friends say at parties, or generic crap like "I'm going to class now" or "I had toast for breakfast," or having endless @ conversations with each other and retweeting forever, which makes the concept of Twitter that much more masturbatory. A tenth of a percent of Twitter is legitimately worth reading, be it Eisley news or updates from revolutions in the Middle East or protestors in the Wisconsin capitol building. Unfortunately Twitter isn't exactly self-policing when it comes to misinformation (see also: Jeff Goldblum's tragic death), so as a source of real news it's actually less reliable than, say, Wikipedia. And what few legitimately interesting, enriching tweets that do get posted are being pushed aside by "Promoted" tweets and trends, sold to corporate sponsors.

I already follow Eisley, but I stopped using my Twitter account months ago because I couldn't take the vapidity any longer.

Meh, I think Twitter is only as vapid as you allow it to be. I've found the List feature especially useful for that.

As far as it as a news source, trolling does happen, but I don't really even look to see what's trending anymore (primarily because half of it reads like gibberish), but I like the idea of consolidating my favorite journalists into one place where I can easily scroll and see what they're saying and what articles they're linking to without having to check multiple sites. '#Lazy'.

I'm with you. I follow a lot of news sites, fitness & health twitters, and bloggers and such that I'm interested in. I definitely do not agree that 99% of Twitter is dumb stuff. A big percentage? Yeah, but not THAT much. To each their own though of course Smile

I seriously only follow bands and artists who used to blog and were entertaining (Billy Corgan) or bands working on projects I want to keep up on. Beyond that I just follow folks from the LC and local music scene who suggest that I do, or bands or artists suggested by the aforementioned.

As with all mediums, it's an instrument, so I'm with Tahruh on this one, I just tune out the zombies.

i have had a twitter for a while. i stopped using it months ago, but recently kind of started using it again when i got my ipad.

the problem is, i am only following about 100 people. and even at that, to keep up with everything that is going on with those 100, it would take hours a day.

i just dont have the time to invest in that type of thing.

it is great for companies and the like to reach their fans, but for the average joe, not so much

But it's so customizable! You can keep your feed full of rich, informative, and coherent tweets if you just follow the right people.

Try following 223... I'm working on cutting it down but having trouble choosing anyone to axe. There's probably a good 30 of those people that never tweet, so that makes it sound a little better, haha.

Twitter is worth having solely to read and share Jason Ritter's puns. Oh my God. Laughing
But anyway, I'm following all the Duprees Smile
