"The name means ice island in several Germanic languages, though it is not intentional, since the name actually originates from Mos Eisley."

Haha I was doing a random Wiki search on Eisley and never saw that before.

Also:
"Due to conflicting thoughts with Warner Brothers, only 1000 copies of Room Noises were printed on vinyl originally. The band is now working on getting Room Noises released along with Combinations in a dual vinyl pack"

is that still happening? I WANT!

With all the bulls**it going on with WB right now, I HIGHLY doubt that. They're (WB) making it so hard for the band to get LP3 out so I don't think they would be working on anything having to do with Room Noises or Combinations. Tough it would be nice.

Interesting! The only corroboration I can find for this (besides a million sites that quote the Wiki article) is a ColourLovers palette.

Haha. Sherri on the lyre and Chauntelle on the tuba? I'd like to see that.

When I came back from moving my car during the Springfield show, a bunch of hipsters were sitting outside and I overheard one say, "Yeah, if they all had banjos, we would totally be in there right now."

Banjos are the epitome of cool? I really can't fathom caring more about conforming to some notion of cool than the actual music. Call me crazy but I thought being a music fan was about being a fan of music.

This just makes me remember how I am SO over folk these days. At least this hipster folk stuff ... I'm think I'll start a grunge band. Laughing

all of the above.

Also I've loved folk music my whole life but that's mostly cause I live in tennessee so some appreciation for a raw acoustic guitar was bound to happen. It's people like the mentioned above that ruin so many great bands and good genre of music. I'm over a lot of folk bands on my local scene, they're not that remarkable. There's like only two or three I like.

I also love new wave and punk. Oh oh and lo-fi music and that obsession came way WAY before my introduction to Jack white

ALSO I hate the banjo and I find ukeleles annoying. I've never understood the obsession so many people seem to have over them nowadays

Banjoes and ukes rule, but not hipsters who play them to look cool.

(That rhymes. ha ha)

Banjo playing was "hipster-cool" like, three years ago.
It's all about the homemade synths now. Duh. Laughing
